<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
Lorsque le débit d'eau chaude est nul, l'eau de consomma- tion chauffe pratiquement la même température que l'eau de chauffage, en sorte que celle-ci cesse de circuler. Si, en outre, la consosmation de chaleur du chauffage central devenait très petite, ou si celui-ci était complètement fermé, l'apport prolon- gé de chaleur risquerait de faire monter la température de l'eau dans la chemise d'eau 2, au-delà de la limite permise, respective- ment de provoquer une production de vapeur;
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

The invention relates to a heating boiler provided with a hot water generator, in the form of a heat exchanger, arranged above the hearth of said boiler, said hearth being above and laterally surrounded by a chimney. of water capable of being connected to the supply and return circuits of a central heating system and comprising an additional heater, the inlet of which is in communication with said water jacket and the outlet in communication with said heat exchanger.
The object of the invention is to improve such a heating boiler so that, during a flow of hot water,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the supply of heat from the water jacket enveloping said fireplace to said hot water generator takes place in an accelerated manner.
This object, according to the invention, is achieved by the fact that the additional heater, output side, is in communication with a. ascending tube superiorly open, extending longitudinally and with play inside one of the heating tubes of said hot water generator, said heating tube communicating, by its lower part, 'with the upper part of the jacket of 'water.
If the drinking water contained in the hot water generator is colder than the water in the heating tubes, there is, by this very fact, as explained more fully below, a vigorous circulation of the heating water in the heating tubes, which significantly accelerates the heating of the cold water for consumption brought into the hot water generator.
The embodiment of the heating boiler, according to the invention, which is described below with reference to. The accompanying drawing still has several additional advantages which are noted in the course of this description.
In this drawing, the single figure shows schematically a longitudinal section of the heating boiler according to the invention.
In the heating boiler shown, the hearth 1 is above and laterally surrounded by a water jacket 2. The heat is generated by an oil burner 3, The boiler is provided with two pipes 4 and 5 suitable for connection to the supply line, respectively return, of a central heating installation. The two pipes 4-5 communicate with each other by a rotary valve 7 controlled by an operating valve 6. By opening the valve 1, it is possible, in a known manner, to mix the hot water supply with cold water coming directly from the return, in order to adjust the temperature
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
central heating power supply.
From the return pipe 5, the cold return water does not immediately flow into the water jacket 2, but first into an adjacent chamber 8 forming a circulation pipe and in communication ;, -because an opening lower 9, with said water jacket. During its journey through chamber 8, the cold water heats up so that, upon entering the water jacket 2, through opening 9, it will have been brought to a temperature appreciably higher than the temperature. initial.
This heating is made even more efficient by the fact that the chamber 8 also communicates with the water jacket, by an upper opening 10, so that, by the flow of 1. ' water in chamber 8, there is suction, through 1 opening 10, of hot water going from jacket 2 to the supply, the quantity of hot water thus introduced and adding to return water automatically adjusting as needed.
The deflector blades or vanes 10 'delimiting the opening 10 of the circulation pipe 8 determine a local narrowing of the free section of the water jacket and of that of said circulation pipe, so as to constitute an injector through which the The amount of feed water added to the cold water increases by / as the amount of water flowing into chamber 8 increases.
The fact that the return water does not enter the water jacket 2 under a temperature of about 30-40, but under a significantly higher temperature, for example 50-60, is very important since the condensation and thereby also the risk of corrosion of the inner wall of the water jacket 2 is thus significantly reduced when the oil burner 3 is switched off.
11 indicates a cleaning door and 12 a cover for closing another cleaning port. The con-
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
smoke outlet 13 is provided with a rotary damper 14.
A heat-resistant metallic element 15, for example, of nickel-chromed sheet steel, acting as a baffle, is arranged in the hearth 1 so as to force the combustion gases to pass along the wall of the fire. the water jacket, tcut by promoting the combustion of the oil by the effect of the heat stored in said element.
The hearth 1 further comprises a hollow cylindrical wall 16, the hollow of which is in communication with that of a front wall and that of a partition, both equally hollow.
The hollow walls 16-18 together constitute an additional heater communicating, through its inlet and through a pipe 19, with the water jacket 2 and, through its outlet, with an upwardly open tube 20. In the front wall 17 there is provided a cleaning orifice closed by the cover 21.
The partition 18, as can be seen from the drawing, does not extend as far as the front wall 17, so that there remains a passage 22. The combustion gases flowing in the direction of the indicated arrows therefore pass through 'first along chicane 15, going around it; then they go around the outer face of the double cylindrical wall 16, then they enter the interior of the latter by passing through the top, bypassing the double partition wall 18 to exit the boiler through the discharge pipe 13. The heater 16-18 thus ensures, in a known manner, the full use of the heat supplied to the boiler.
In the upper part of the water jacket 2 there is a thermostat 23, in order to stop the oil burner 3 when the water reaches a temperature, for example 90.
Above the fireplace 1 is provided a cellar water generator, 24 in the form of a heat exchanger. This includes, in its
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
upper part, a water jacket 25 constituted by a double voted bottom. This water jacket is in communication with the water jacket 2 by a vertical heating tube 26, inside which is disposed with play, the aforementioned riser tube extending longitudinally approximately to the wall. double 25. Thus the heater 16-18 communicates, on the outlet side, through the riser tube 20, with the heat exchanger 24. A set of vertical heating tubes 27 further connects / two water jackets 2¯ and 25.
The cold water for consumption enters the hot water generator through the inlet pipe 28, while the hot water leaves said generator through the outlet pipe 29. A return pipe is designated by 30. Between the outlet pipe 29 and the return pipe 30 is maintained, in a known manner, a permanent circulation of hot water circulating through the condvites, not shown, leading to the flow points, so as to ensure the instantaneous flow of hot water when one of the flow cocks is opened. The water jacket is also provided with a tubing 31 suitable for being connected to an expansion tank, not shown.
The hot water generator is provided with a thermometer 32 and a cleaning door 33, the fixing and sealing devices known per se are not shown in detail.
If the consumption water contained in the hot water generator
24 is at the same temperature as the water in the water jacket 2 and in the additional heater 16-18, there is no water circulation in the heating pipes
26 and 27, and therefore no heat exchange between the heating water and the drinking water.
However, as soon as the temperature of the drinking water drops below that of the heating water, which automatically occurs during a. hot water flow, consumption
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
At this point, hot water from the additional heater begins to rise in the riser pipe 20. As a result, the heating water in the annular space between the riser pipe 20 and the heating pipe 26 is thereby removed. entrained towards the open end of said riser tube to enter the water jacket 25 serving as a distributor. The heating water returns from the distributor 25, through the heating tubes 27, into the water jacket 2.
As the heating water passing from the water jacket 2 into the annular space between the tubes 20 and 26 is hotter than the water returning through the tubes 27 into the water jacket 2 and as it is, by the water rising in the riser 20, both entrained and reheated, a very lively circulation soon develops producing an intensive heat exchange and an accelerated reheating of the cold drinking water entering the hot water generator.
As a result, the hot water generator 24 acquires the characteristics of a circulation heater. The hydraulic resistance of the straight heating tubes 26 and 27, as well as that of the distributor jacket'25, are very low, which further promotes the above-mentioned circulation. Likewise, from the point of view of manufacture and service and maintenance (cleaning), the hot water generator 24 is distinguished by its very favorable characteristics.
When the hot water flow is zero, the drinking water heats up to practically the same temperature as the heating water, so that the latter stops circulating. If, in addition, the heat consumption of the central heating becomes very small, or if the central heating is completely closed, the prolonged supply of heat could raise the temperature of the water in the water jacket 2 , beyond the allowable limit, respectively to cause the production of steam;
for this reason, burner 3 is stopped by thermostat 23 when the temperature
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
ture is around 90. Obviously, 'a safety line 31 is provided' in the event of a thermostat fault.
In turn, the drain of the water jacket 2 is also provided with a purge tube 34 normally closed by a plug 35.
It is obvious that the additional heater can be produced in any way other than that shown in the drawing. It could, for example, consist essentially of a single horizontal double wall. The boiler could obviously instead of a burner. oil ', include a grate for the combustion of solid fuels, or a gas burner.
The hot water generator can also be constructed in a different way, in particular without a water jacket 25.
In this case, inside the hot water generator is a. special heating element, the inlet of which is connected to the heating tube 26 acting as supply elbow and the outlet to the water chamber 2. The riser tube 20 must then be extended to the connecting pipe connecting the heating tube 26 acting as a supply pipe to said heating element and arranged in the upper part of said heating element.
