Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

   For the preparation of bodies of casting resin or similar substances :, it is known to use casting molds of metal sheets, of paper or of artificial material. It has also been proposed to leave the molds in whole or in part on the body to be manufactured. Known casting molds of this kind had the disadvantage of not being transparent and thus not allowing monitoring of the casting process.

 casting, which adversely influences the electrical properties.

   The present invention overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks by constituting the cover mold in a pit of transparent artificial material. We can choose a

 wall thickness so small that it is simply related to the stresses that have to be faced during the manufacture of the castings. The mold is advantageously formed in one piece, by folding. It is also possible to use molds in two parts, which are joined together so as to be able to tilt, by means of hinges or devices of the same kind.

   For the closing of the mold, according to a development of the invention there are provided appendages or similar elements in the form of flanges, which are joined in a liquid-tight manner, for example by gluing, by means of adhesive tapes. It is also possible to provide appendages to the mold elements, appendages which, when the mold is closed, form a casting opening.

   In order that the casting mold can be used for various sizes, for example in the manufacture of cable gaskets, stepped appendages are provided which, depending on the size of the article to be cast, can be detached.

   In Figures 1 to 4 two embodiments of the invention are shown. In both cases, it is a mold for the manufacture of cable junction sleeves. The casting mold consists of two parts 1 and 2, formed by means of sheets. Polyvinyl chloride can be used, for example, as sheet material. Parts 1 and 2 are interconnected by a hinge 3 and are folded against one another and closed by gluing. On the upper side are provided appendages which form a pouring funnel 4. On both sides the mold has appendages 5 and 6 in stages, to adapt the mold to various cable diameters. Depending on the diameter at the root, the tiered appendages are detached.

   After completion of the cast body, the protruding mold parts can be removed

The parts of the mold directly surrounding the object remain on it.

   Figures 3 and 4 show a similar construction for a double branch sleeve.

   CLAIMS
1.- Casting mold of artificial material for obtaining bodies of casting resin or similar substances, which remains on the cast body, in particular for cable fittings, characterized in that the casting mold is made of a sheet of transparent artificial material.
