The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a container from moldable material having at least one side wall, a bottom and an opening of loading and containers having a double or triple walled end obtainable by this process.
s The manufacture of containers with walls such as flower pots, for example, is usually done by molding a shape of material plastic. This type of process is relatively quick and economical but does not allows to manufacture only containers of simple shape and low thickness.
It is in particular not possible to produce hollow parts and 9o closed when it is necessary to have a volume at a specific place of the piece, as can be the case at the rim of a pot, for example.
The present invention therefore aims to remedy the drawbacks the aforementioned methods of the prior art.
To this end, a first object of the invention is a manufacturing process ~ 5 of a container of moldable material having at least one side wall, a background and a loading opening, characterized in that said container by molding, and in that at least one of its side walls comprises, at vicinity of said unloading opening, first means forming hinge and second hinge means, located at a distance from said hinges 2o first means forming a hinge and making it possible to pivot a part of said side wall thus creating a triple wall.
Any moldable material can be used for this purpose, such as, a plastic material.
The introduction of hinges in one of the walls of the container allows 25 in particular to realize closed volumes whose realization was not previously achievable. In addition, the manufacture of this hinge is very simple and does not require a particular step, this resulting of molding itself.
In a preferred embodiment, the hinge means are 3o constituted by a line of reduced thickness compared to the rest of the wall lateral, or by a set of lines linked together by very small walls of suitable shape, but it is of course possible to realize the
2 hinge by any other means suitable for use.
In a preferred embodiment, the container is obtained by molding by injection or by extrusion blow molding.
This embodiment has the additional advantage of being able to make parts even larger and more resistant than with a only hinge and can also have special shapes.
A second object of the invention consists of a manufacturing process of two containers of moldable material according to the invention, characterized in than said containers are manufactured simultaneously by molding in a single form comprising at least two bottoms and a side wall, which is then cut out in the middle, parallel to the bottoms of said containers. This mode of realization allows the manufacture of two containers in a single operation molding of said containers, the blanks of which are arranged head to tail. A
simple cutting operation then separates them.
A third object of the invention consists of the containers which can be obtained by the different embodiments of the processes according to the invention.
Other features and advantages of the present invention will appear on reading the following detailed description made in reference 2o in the accompanying drawings in which - Figure 1A shows a sectional view of a first mode of production of a container according to the invention during manufacture, - Figure 1B shows a sectional view of the container of Figure 1A
at the end of its manufacture, 2s - Figure 2A shows a sectional view of a second mode of production of a container according to the invention during manufacture, - Figure 2B shows a sectional view of the container of Figure 2A
at the end of its manufacture, - Figure 3A shows a sectional view of a variant of the second 3o embodiment of a container according to the invention, during manufacturing, '3 - Figure 3B shows a sectional view of the device of Figure 3A
at the end of its manufacture.
If we consider Figure 1A, we can see a molded part 1 such that it is obtained after blow molding and which comprises in particular a bottom 2 extended by a side wall 3. This wall 3 comprises a horizontal peripheral groove 4, the upper part of which ends in a reduced thickness line 5 forming a hinge. Above hinge 5 there is a strip of material 6 whose height is slightly greater than the throat diameter 4.
From this molded form, the container 7 of FIG. 1B is produced by cutting the upper part of the molded form 1 at the level of the strip 6, so that the height of this strip 6 is then of size close to that the diameter of the groove 4. Then fold this strip by rotating it around the hinge 5 then possibly weld the edge of the strip 6 sure ~ 5 the container wall. As can be seen, it is thus possible to quickly and easily make a moldable container comprising a bulky but hollow, double-walled rim.
If we now consider Figure 2B, we can see another mode of realization of a container according to the invention which has two hinges and no 2o only one like that of FIGS. 1A and 1B.
In the same way as above, we obtain by molding by blow molding or injection molding 8 which has an extended bottom 9 by a side wall 10 comprising a horizontal peripheral shoulder 11.
This shoulder 11 comprises along its upper part a line 25 of reduced thickness 12 forming a first hinge. The wall 10 is extended then by a strip of material 13 whose height is equal to that of the diagonal of the shoulder 11. The upper part of the strip of material 13 is delimited by a second reduced thickness line 14 forming a second hinge which is itself extended by a second strip of 3o material 15.
This strip of material 15 is curved and has a substantially shaped symmetrical to that of the shoulder 11 when the strip 13 is folded. After '~ 4 molding of this form 8, the container 16 of FIG. 2B can be obtained by rotating the strip 13 around the hinge 12 until it touches the wall then by rotating the strip 15 around the hinge 14 until it touches the strip 13. We can then weld the strip 13 on the wall 10 and the strip 15 sure strip 13 if desired. The container 16 obtained has a rim again larger than that of container 7 while requiring little material.
If we now consider Figures 3A and 3B, we can see a shape molded 17 also having two hinges which will not be described more because it is identical to the molded shape 8 with the exception of the shape of the shoulder and the second strip of material which are more rounded here, this which gives at the end of the manufacturing process, a container 18 with a rim of an oval section. So we see that by varying the shape of these two parts of the wall we can get different types of edges more or less bulky; and more or less inclined, depending on the end use of this ~ 5 container.
It should also be noted that if a multilayer parison is used for the realization of the containers 16 and 18, the interior of the rim may have a aspect different from the outside of the container, whether by color etlou by texture, which further increases the number of achievable variants.
It goes without saying that the embodiments of the invention which have been described above has been given for information only and is in no way limitative, and that of many modifications can be easily made by humans art without departing from the scope of the invention.
Thus, if the examples given relate more particularly to the 2s field of flower pots, it is perfectly possible to use the process according to the invention in other technical fields in which the same type of problem.
