TRANSMISSION A COURROIES CUNEIFORMES, A REGLAGE CONTINU.
L'invention consis- te fondamentalement 'en ce que l'arbre intermédiaire se trouve à une distan- ce notable de la ligne de jonction entre l'arbre moteur et l'arbre entrai- né et qu'il est relié en-partie à un dispositif de déplacement de l'arbre, dispositif constitué par un joint articulée à levier à genouillère muni d'un dispositif de manoeuvre et dont une branche est montée dans le bâti de la machine;
L'invention sera décrite ci.-,-%près plus en détail avec référence aux dessins annexés illustrant un exemple de réalisation; et dans lesquels : - la figure 1 est une vue de profil d'un dispositif d'entraine- ment par courroies muni d'un mécanisme suivant l'invention; - la figure 2 est une coupe longitudinale axiale d'un mode de réalisation du mécanisme réglable et elle représente en outre le joint ar- ticulé à levier à genouillère;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

CONTINUOUSLY ADJUSTABLE CUNEIFORM BELT TRANSMISSION.
The present invention relates to a transmission with cone-shaped belts, continuously adjustable between a driving shaft and a driven shaft; ,, transmission consisting of pulleys mounted on an intermediate shaft and the side surfaces of which form grooves between them. cuneiform for the belts, an intermediate pulley being arranged with respect to the pulleys which are on both sides of this intermediate pulley, in such a way that the effective diameters of the grooves vary with respect to each other on both sides of the belt. the intermediate pulley, when the intermediate shaft is moved to the wedge belt pulleys on the motor shaft side and the driven shaft side.
The invention basically consists in that the intermediate shaft is located at a substantial distance from the junction line between the motor shaft and the driven shaft and that it is partly connected to the motor shaft. a device for moving the shaft, a device consisting of an articulated joint with a toggle lever provided with an operating device and one branch of which is mounted in the frame of the machine;
, while the antrum carries the intermediate shaft at its free end, and partly to an arm mounted in partial rotation in the frame of the machine, crossing the junction line between the motor shaft and the impeded shaft and which is can vary the effective length.,
The invention will be described hereinafter in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings illustrating an exemplary embodiment; and in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of a belt drive device provided with a mechanism according to the invention; FIG. 2 is an axial longitudinal section of an embodiment of the adjustable mechanism and it further shows the articulated joint with toggle lever;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
- Figure 3 is a view, on a larger scale, of the left-hand part of Figure 1, and - Figure 4 is a view of the device of Figure 3 after rotation 90.
In the drawings, 1 is a motor shaft carrying a pulley 2 with wedge-shaped belts. The corresponding endless wedge belt is denoted by 3. Further can be seen a driven shaft 4 carrying a wedge belt pulley 5 and the corresponding wedge belt 6. 7 denotes an intermediate shaft carrying the members making it possible to vary the speed of the driven shaft.
In the example shown in FIG. 2, the shaft 7 carries, by means of two ball bearings 8, two outer pulleys 9 and 10 rigidly connected to each other by threads or other devices cut in their hub. An intermediate pulley 11 movable axially on this hub is mounted between these two pulleys o The pulleys 9-11 form along their periphery and between them wedge-shaped grooves 12 and 13, in which the belts 6 and 3 pass. medial 11 is moved to the left in Figure 2, which is the case when the shaft is moved and brought a greater distance from the shaft 1, so that the belt 3 engages more deeply into the shaft. throat, the belt 6, which passes through the throat 12,
moves outward and then acts on a larger effective diameter, corresponding to the reduction in the effective diameter of the groove 13 and to the reduction in the distance between shafts 7 and 4.
The intermediate shaft is located at a certain distance a from the junction line e between shafts 1 and 4. It is held in part by an articulated joint with a toggle lever, the branches of which are designated by 14 and 15, and partly by an arm 16, which is between the shafts 1 and 4 which crosses the junction line c.
and which is mounted in partial rotation at a certain distance from this line, on an axis 17 carried by the frame of the machine, for example on a support 18. The effective length of this arm can be varied by means of a screw adjustment 19 according to the desired tension of the wedge belts 3 and 60 The arm 16 must be very long Its length is for example equal to the distance separating the shafts 1 and 4 or greater than this distance We can also express this relation by saying that this length is approximately equal to twice the distance a or greater marl.
FIGS. 3 and 4 show the method of partially rotating the arm 16 and the device used to vary the length of this arm. A threaded pin 25 which is located at the end of the arm 16 engages in a perforation a bent intermediate piece 26. The axis carries, on both sides of the perforation, screwed nuts 19 and 27 allowing the length of the rod to be varied. The intermediate piece is rotatably mounted in the support 18 with the axis 17, so that the arm 16 can rotate around the axis 17.
The intermediate piece 26 carries a tongue 28 which rests on the long side of the arm 16 and prevents the latter from rotating about the longitudinal axis of the axis 25 when the nuts 19, 27 are rotated to adjust the effective arm length.
The shaft 7 is mounted at the end of the part 14, while the part 15 is mounted to rotate around a support 20 carried by the frame of the machine. One end of a rod 22 attacks the axis. of articulation 21 of the articulated joint with toggle lever, and the other end of this rod is connected, for example, to an angled operating lever 23, the position of which can be gradually varied over a sector 24 and which can be locked. The lever 23 allows the articulated kneeling lever joint to be brought to its extended position or to its flexion position, for example from a central position at right angles between the legs 14, 15, the intermediate shaft being brought closer to one or the other of the shafts 1 and 4 respectively.
This displacement takes place as a result of the length of the arm 16 and the direction of this arm which, for the calculated appropriate average value of the transmission ratio between shafts 1 and 4, can
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
be perpendicular to the junction line ±. between these trees and may tend to take a position parallel to this junction line. This is the ideal case for an invariable tension belt for all the transmission ratios to be considered.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the shaft 4 may for example be the shaft of a beater drum in a threshing machine.
