<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"PUMP VACUUM DEVICE"
The present patent relates to a pump vacuum device, particularly for a high pressure pump, the object of which is to let the pump run when the maximum pressure is reached and which must automatically cause the latter to be vacuumed when the pressure reaches a maximum pressure. determined and adjustable maximum value and consequently stop this vacuum when the pressure has fallen to a determined and adjustable minimum value.
The device envisaged in accordance with the present patent will be described in what follows with the aid of the appended schematic drawings of which FIG. 1 represents the arrangement and the connection between them of the means used for its realization and FIG. 2. , a schematic plan view of an assembly forming a monobloo in which the means used are distributed,
Referring to fig. I, the pump is represented by I,

and its discharge pipe via 2. The latter opens into the upper chamber 4 of a first valve body 3.
This chamber 4 is provided with a seat 5 normally closed by the valve 6 under which contacts the upper end 7 of a control rod 10 passing through a chamber 8 from which leaves a return pipe 9 to the tank. pump 45.
Under this chamber 8 is disposed a chamber 12 forming a cylinder or is disposed the piston II of the control rod 10. In the interior part of this cylinder 12 opens the pressurized fluid line 35 intended to control the lifting of the valve. 6, and which will be discussed later.
From the chamber 4 starts the pipe 13 opening under the valve or check valve 15 disposed in the chamber 16 of a second valve body 14. In this chamber 16 arises the pipe 17 supplying on the one hand by 18 the accumulator19 and d '' on the other hand the pipe 20 intended for the operation of the pressure control means,
The first branch 21 of the pipe 20 opens into a third valve body 23 under the. so-called maximum valve 29 closing the chamber 24 from which a pipe 30, which will be discussed below, leaves.
The stem 25 of the valve 29 is loaded with the lever 26 biased by the adjustable counterweight 27 and an adjustable spring 28.
The second branch 22 of the pipe 20 opens into a fourth valve body 31 under the piston 33 housed in a cylinder 34 arranged under the central chamber 32 into which the pipe 30 opens and from which the pipe 35 opens into the lower part. of the first valve body 3 under the piston 11. This chamber 32 is closed at its upper part by a so-called minimum valve 36, on the lower face of which the upper end of the piston 33 rests. The valve 36 is housed in the upper chamber 38 crossed by the rod 37 of the valve 36,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In this chamber 38 originates the discharge pipe 39 in the tank of the pump 45 via a funnel 44 or the like.
The valve 36 is loaded, via its rod 37, by a lever 40 biased by an adjustable counterweight 41 and an adjustable spring 42.
A small pipe 43 originating on the interior wall of the cylinder 34 allows the evacuation of the fluid, which could infiltrate between the cylinder 34 and the piston 33, into the funnel 44 connected to the suction tank 45 of the pump. by piping 46.
Fig. 2 shows a plan of a schematic view of an embodiment of the set of four valve bodies I4,3,23,3I forming a whole monobloo 47 of limited space in which the communications and passages are machined in the mass of the considered monobloo.
The function is as follows:
Referring to fig.I, the water delivered by the pump I goes directly to the accumulator 19, passing through the conduit 2, the chamber 4, the conduit 13 by lifting the check valve 15 and there, through the chamber 16 to the pipe 17 and from there, through a first branch 18 to the accumulator 19, the other branch pipe 20 going through the branch pipe 21 into the third valve body 23 where the valve body is located. so-called maximum valve 29, and by the branch pipe 22 to the fourth valve body 31 containing the so-called minimum valve 36,
At the minimum pressure adjustable by the counterweight 41 and the spring 42 or by one of them only, the valve 36 is closed by the thrust of the piston 33 and the communication between the chambers 38 and 32 is cut off.
At the maximum pressure adjustable by the counterweight 27 and the spring 28 or by one of only the valve 29 rises and the fluid coming from 21 passes through 24, the conduit 30, the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
chamber 32 for, through pipe 35, exert a thrust on the piston II which, by lifting the valve 6 at 7, puts the chamber 4 and the chamber 8 in communication.
Therefore, the pump I delivers by 2,4,8,9 in the tank 45 and the setting. vacuum is thus achieved,
When the pressure of the accumulator 19 decreases, the valve 29 drops and when this pressure falls below a minimum, the valve 36 drops, which has the effect of establishing communication between the chambers 32 and 38 from where the escape of water through the pipe 39 and consequently through the channel 35 opening into the chamber 32, a pressure drop under the piston II which causes the descent of the piston II and the closing by the valve 6 of the communication between the chambers 4, 8. The valve 6 falls back on its seat, the pump delivers, again in the accumulator as described above.
From the above description, it is understood that by adjusting the counterweights and spring 27 and 28 for a maximum pressure P and the counterweights and spring 41 and 42 on the other hand for a minimum pressure p, a deviation or a difference Pp between the limits of which the pump is evacuated.
This P-p difference must not however be too small, because the loss of water through line 39 could be continuous and too great because of the too narrow limits between which the valves at maximum 29 and minimum 36 should then operate.
It goes without saying that other variants in the arrangement of the components and in their execution can be envisaged without departing from the scope of the field of this patent, which may be characterized by the following:
