Description

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.3

   Les fig. 1-5 représentent la nouvelle pierre de forme selon son premier mode d'exécution. On trouvera en particulier: sur la fig. l, une vue de face; sur la fig. 2, une vue en plan; sur la fig. 9, une vue selon la coupe III-III de la fig.3; sur la fig. 4, une vue selon la coupe IV-IV de la fig.2; sur la fig. 5 une vue selon la. coupe   V-V   de la fig. 2;

Dry-laid masonry and process for its construction
The invention relates to a dry-laid masonry, for which. commercial shaped stones are used. In accordance with the invention, in dry-laid masonry, shaped stones bearing, on their end faces, male and female interlocking elements, and in which the elements forming a joint are formed by plates of an elastic water-repellent material.

   The purpose of applying dry-laid masonry is the execution of residential and residential constructions, by the use of a new shaped stone for the rising walls, without the use of mortar for the vertical and horizontal joints. , so as to achieve an almost completely dry construction method for the erection of vertical walls, while, by the interlocking of the stones due to the presence of male and female interlocking elements, joints are avoided continuous verticals on the end faces, which, for such a construction method, is of decisive importance for maintaining sufficient security against stresses perpendicular to the face of the walls.

   The technical problem of constituting a masonry without the use of mortar has been known for a long time.

  The solution of this problem was particularly urgent because, as a result of the use of mortar, large quantities of water are introduced into the houses during construction. dwelling and, subsequently, this water must be. expelled at great expense. In addition, the times for the execution of such constructions were significantly longer, precisely because of the elimination of the large quantities of water used.

   Already in the remotest times, constructions were carried out made up of blocks of stone laid one on top of the other, without mortar. The desired stability of these constructions was obtained by the fact that the seating faces were erected very carefully and that blocks of very large dimensions and of relatively very heavy weight were used.

  Such a method of construction was obviously very expensive and cannot be applied in modern constructions.

   For a long time, therefore, brick walls have been executed, in which the mortar was replaced by asphalt as a binder. However, it is known that the use of asphalt does not make it possible to achieve sufficient safety, because its resistance decreases sharply when the temperature rises. On the other hand, 'we have also known dry-laid masonry, in which the elements forming a joint consist of strips of material similar to felt or wood which are soaked with asphalt or similar products.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1

  For these dry-laid masonry, the possibilities of application are also limited, because, here too, the use of asphalt reduces safety at high temperatures,
Finally, dry-laid masonry is still known, in which, as part forming a joint, strips were used.
 EMI2.2
 rubber bands, possibly proven, characterized by a certain tensile strength in the longitudinal direction. The increase in the resistance of the walls in their longitudinal direction means without any Joute an improvement in safety against aes rather strong stresses, compared to previously known methods.

   The drawback of all these known or similar construction methods, however, consists in the fact that the walls are extremely sensitive to stresses developing perpendicularly to the walls. These construction methods are therefore applicable only for constructions of reduced importance, where one is only in the presence of reduced transverse stresses. This is why, if we consider the development of the construction methods described above, it will be noted that no significant progress has been made since the introduction of plates and bands as elements forming a joint. .

   On the other hand, the application of male and female interlocking elements has taken on a completely different development in dry-laid masonry. So far, no link has been made
 EMI2.3
 its by fitting male and female to the end faces of the stones only when it is necessary to place, in a finished carcass, structural elements in the form of a plate constituting the wall filling element.

   However, in this case, the application of male and female interlocking elements was per-
 EMI2.4
 particularly suitable, because the carcass was already finished and the connection with the wall plates to be placed was only possible thanks to the male and ferrule interlocking elements, because these plates were usually made of another material. However, the use of large-sized plates has in general been completely unsuccessful because, owing to the difficulties in transporting these plates and the resulting damage, this method of construction has been found to be uneconomical.

   In addition, nowadays, only large plates are used as cladding in luxury constructions, public constructions and

 ana1o; ues.

  Contrary to this, the invention is based on the fact that neither the use of bands such as 01, ;;, e "ts forming a joint, nor the use of male and female interlocking on the end faces, does not are sufficient to carry out dry-laid masonry, which is somewhat suitable in all cases.
 EMI2.6
 lisation is ceper.dxtit ,, 2écassaire for construction methods, if one wants to achieve rational work, both during the preparation of materials and during construction itself-1 "toê.>, e.

  It follows that the principle of the invention consists simultaneously in. the application, .es interlocking l, .3.165 and 1 ">. ;; them to the end faces and in the use of,> laluas spacers forming a seal :. A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention consists in the execution of shaped stones in two pieces, so that a particularly suitable material is available for the exterior face of the masonry and for its interior face. In this case, the two parts of the shaped stones are interconnected by male and female amboitement provided on the contact facas

   A completely essential characteristic of the new shaped stone consists moreover in the fact that it is provided with a recess passing right through and having to receive the carpenter columns to be formed subsequently.

   The accompanying drawings show various embodiments of the invention.

   Figs. 1-5 represent the new shaped stone according to its first embodiment. In particular, it will be found: in FIG. l, a front view; in fig. 2, a plan view; in fig. 9, a view along section III-III of fig.3; in fig. 4, a view along section IV-IV of fig.2; in fig. 5 a view according to. section V-V of fig. 2;

   Fig. 15 shows the shape of the lintel of a window opening, as it will be usefully executed for the dry-laid masonry according to the invention.

   Fig. 16 shows another embodiment of stone, in the form of feet for windows and doors.

   Figs. 1 to 5 represent the first embodiment of the new form stone 1. According to a particular embodiment, this new stone consists of two halves 1a and 1b. Half of the material intended for the exterior face of the masonry consists of a stony, coarse-grained material, such as pumice stone, slag, etc. The half 1b intended for the interior face of the masonry consists on the other hand of a fine-grained, fibrous material, such as mineralized sawdust or other similar materials. It is advisable to also manufacture the walls of the houses and those separating the rooms from the latter material, as well as the ceiling plates. Thanks to their properties, the half-stones intended for the interior face of the masonry can be worked like wood.

   Compared to stones used for the exterior face of masonry, their heat transmission coefficient is significantly more favorable. They also provide good insulation against sound transmission. As, on the other hand, the outer half of the stone has a particularly high resistance, weather and fire resistance and is indefornable, the new shaped stone has properties that can never be achieved by use. of a uni-

 than. as shown in fig. 2, the shaped stone 1 is provided with a recess 4 to receive the structural columns to be executed subsequently.

   In addition, the stone has several recesses 3 significantly improving the heat transmission coefficient of the shaped stone. The o.oux halves la and lb are usefully provided, on the inner face, with interlocking elements, preferably aronae tail, or with teeth 7, and are joined, directly in the factory, in a single Pierre. On the end faces, the shaped stone carries the male and female interlocking elements 5, 6 in order to achieve, in the horizontal and without mortar, the connection between the stones during installation.

   Thanks to the fact that the male and female interlocking elements 1: penetrate one another, as shown in fig. 6, a continuous vertical seal is avoided, which is very important for the safety of the machine.

 masonry against forces developing perpendicular to the walls. It is very important to practice that the dimensions of the new shaped stone are appropriate for the usual dimensions of the masonry. On the upper face, the shaped stone 1 has a recess 2. The plate 6 to be placed on the upper face of the stones is suitable for
