<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Figure 1 représente une coupe longitudinale d'un ensem- ble gazogène-brûleur et four conforme à l'invention, cette coupe étant faite suivant l'axe A-A A-A de la figure 2 et par l'axe B-B B-B de figure 3;
Figure 2 est une coupe horizontale par C-C de figure 1 de l'ensemble en question ;
Figure 3 est une coupe par D-D de figures 1 et 2;

Figure 5 est une coupe longitudinale partielle analogue à figure 1 d'une variante;
Figure 6 est une vue analogue d'une autre variante;

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Gasifier heating device and its application to high temperature furnaces"
The present invention relates to a gasifier heating device and its application to ovens at high temperatures.
The main object of the invention is to provide a gasifier heating device which makes it possible to obtain high temperatures, with as little heat loss as possible and which is capable of being put into operation in an extremely long time. short or set time of action in a very short period of time, all under very economical conditions. Another object of the invention is the creation of a gasifier heating assembly capable of being attached directly in particular to an oven or similar apparatus in which a high temperature must be developed, this combination. the heating device and the oven are effected with a minimum of loss of calories.

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
To this end, the heating device comprises a gasifier with air injection nozzles connected directly or via a distribution chamber to one or more burners simultaneously receiving the gas produced by the gasifier and a supply. secondary air, preferably heated, this secondary air being advantageously injected obliquely with respect to the gas and in the direction of movement of the latter, The combination with the oven takes place, in accordance with the invention, by a direct connection of the burners with the oven itself.
The gases produced by the gasifier can be brought to the burners, whether or not there is a distribution chamber, either by flues made inside the gasifier tank, or by a flue outside the gasifier, or again by a flue which is partially inside the gasifier and partially outside.
The secondary air supply is preferably provided by an air heater situated, for example, above the furnace and through which the hot gases leaving the latter pass.
Other characteristics of the invention appear in the examples of construction of a device according to the invention which are shown in the accompanying drawings.
In these drawings:
FIG. 1 represents a longitudinal section of a gasifier-burner and furnace assembly in accordance with the invention, this section being taken along the axis A-A A-A of FIG. 2 and by the axis B-B B-B of FIG. 3;
Figure 2 is a horizontal section through C-C of Figure 1 of the assembly in question;
Figure 3 is a section on D-D of Figures 1 and 2;
Figure 4 is a plan view of the secondary air heater;
Figure 5 is a partial longitudinal section similar to Figure 1 of a variant;
Figure 6 is a similar view of another variant;
Figure 7 shows a variant in the device for connecting the gasifier to a group of two burners.
In the constructive form shown in Figures 1, 2, 3 and 4, the gasifier heating device, object of the invention, applied to the heating of a furnace 1 consists of a

actual gasifier 2, a connecting flue 3, a distribution chamber L and two burners 5, 5a, into which the secondary air heated by an air heater opens at 6, 6a 7 to which the gases from the oven are brought by a flue 8, these gases being discharged through the chimneys 9, 9a.
The gasifier is of the plunging nozzle type 10 cooled by a fluid, this nozzle being supplied with air by a blower, not shown. The gases formed by the combustion of the fuel in the zone which adjoins the nozzle are directed by a vertical flue 11 and the flue 3 into the distribution chamber 4 from which two ducts 12, 12a leave which end at the burners 5 '5a In these burners open two nozzles 13, 13a directed towards the gas outlet in the chamber 14 of the furnace. These nozzles are supplied with hot air by a pipe 15, 15a (figures 1 and 3) which communicates with a casing. collector'16, -in which open tubes 17a communicating with un-collector 18.
The latter communicates on the other hand with tubes 17 connected to a box 16 which receives the air blown everywhere appropriate blowing device (not shown).
The tubes 17, 17a are placed on the path of the hot gases which leave the furnace through a flue 8 to gain the. fireplace 9.
Thanks to the direct connection of the gasifier 2 and the furnace 1 by the flue 3 with simple interposition, in the case of several burners 5, of the distribution chamber 4, heat losses are reduced to a minimum; the charge doors opposite to the passage of gas are also very weak. The oven can be started up very quickly, even with a gasifier that is cold at the start; on the other hand, the heating can be stopped instantly by suppressing the sending of air to the nozzles 10, 6, 6a. The temperatures that can be obtained can be high, thanks to the fact that on the one hand the gases are not cooled between the gasifier and the furnace proper and that, on the other hand, the secondary air can be warmed up by the heater 7.
Finally, the construction of such a set is simple and very collected. The temperature adjustment is easy by simply acting on the flow rate of the air sent to the nozzles 10, 6, 6a.
Finally the rate of the oven (oxidizing, neutral or reducing) is A
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
easily controllable by acting on the operation of the Gazogene itself and on the sending of the secondary air.
In the variant shown in Figure 5, the gasifier instead of being raised above the ground rests on the ground. The internal vertical flue 11 is omitted, the gas outlet flue which was at 3 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is here at 3a and communicates with a vertical flue 11a which connects it to the chamber. distribution 4.
In the case of figure 6, the gasifier is also placed on the ground and the passage of the gases which it produces takes place through the vertical flue li as in figure 1, by a flue 3b located at mid-height communicating with an external vertical flue 11b which opens into the distribution chamber 4. Furthermore, the rest of the gasifier heating device and the application to the heating of a furnace can be marls as in the case of the embodiments. described in relation to Figures 1 to 4.
In the variant shown in Figure 7, the distribution chamber 4 is represented by a Y connection 3c '
3d which follows the flue 3.
