<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
manoeuvre 52.
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

"Bench for spinning bits".
The present invention relates to an improved bench for spinning wicks, the essential characteristics of which reside in particular in the design of torsion means and a new mechanical combination intended to cause the instantaneous stoppage of the tests of the machine in the event of failure of the machine. wick or stretch tape.
In order to make the object of the invention clearly understood, the detailed description of the proposed mechanical combinations refers to the appended drawings, in which: FIG. 1 illustrates a profile view of the bench, showing in particular the members causing the twisting of the wicks.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the device of Figure 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
FIG. 3 is a side view of the machine illustrated in FIG. L, but showing the mechanical elements, cooperating in controlling the drill bit and stopping the machine.
Figure 4 is a view. in plan of the elements illustra, in figure 3.
Figure 5 is a partial elevational view of the mechanism of Figure 3 showing the clutches.
According to the invention, the twisting of the wick is caused by a part 1, which replaces, in this case, the finned element generally used in known benches.
This part 1 is formed substantially by a cylindrical body comprising one or more orifices issuing from the center of this body and opening out towards the periphery of the lower base of the part. This torsion element is moreover described in detail in Belgian patent 401,603 filed on February 21, 1934 for the benefit of the same applicants.
The other debtors and drivers include the following bodies:
Said torsion piece 1 receives its rotational movement either by a drum 5, to which it is connected by a tape or belt, or even by any other suitable transmission means.
Such a spinner bench favorably replaces the spindle benches currently in use since it systematically eliminates the carriage generally animated by an up and down movement, the differential device, the pins and the fins.
On the other hand, the main drive shaft 6 loses a drum 5 and a toothed wheel 7.
The drive of these members results from the connection between the toothed wheel 7 and a second toothed wheel 9 to; The intervention of a chain 8.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The wheel 9 is fixed on a nozzle 10, which also carries a drive pinion 11, called the torsion pinion; this nozzle 10 is mounted on a journal 12, which can be moved in a slide 13, so as to allow the position of the axis of this journal to be modified; of and, consequently / modify the characteristics of the driving or driven organs, and thus regulate the speed. In particular, this arrangement makes it possible to change the pinion 11 which engages with the pinion 14 fixed on a shaft 15, which also carries a toothed wheel 16.
This transmits its rotational movement to a toothed wheel 18 through the intervention of chain 17.
The toothed wheel 18 is fixed on an axis 19, which drives. the stretching cylinder 2 using the pinions 20.
On the stretching cylinder 2 is fixed a toothed wheel 21 which controls the feed rollers 4 through the chain 22 and the toothed wheel 23.
The above-named pinion 14 engages an intermediate pinion
24, which rotates freely on a journal 25.
The latter can also be moved in a slide
26, so as to allow the change of the rolling pinion 27 fixed on the axis 28.
EMI3.1
<
This rolling pinion 27 operates on the spirals of the gill bars with the intervention of toothed pinions 29, 30 and 31. On the shaft 32 is fixed; a toothed wheel 33 which, by means of the chain 34 and the toothed wheel 35, controls the feed rollers 36.
It follows from this arrangement that in this original spinning bench, each head can be controlled separately and stopped when the bit breaks in the twisting apparatus, where, '. '. that the stretch tape has run out.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In order to cause instantaneous stops, the inventors recommend applying the mesanic combinations described below, and in particular shown schematically in Figures 3, 4, 5.
The main shaft 6 carries a number of drums 5, equal to the number of heads carried by the spinning bench.
Each drum 5 is provided with a muffle clutch, the coupling of which is effected by the movement in the ccnvenable direction of a fork 38 integral with a pin 89, which is extended over the entire width of the loom.
The shaft 32, controlling the spirals of the gill-bars, as well as the shaft 19, controlling the stretching cylinders 2 each carry a muffle clutch device 40-41 controlled respectively by the forks 42-43, which are solid. - daires of the same axis 39 above-named.
The latter also carries two levers 44 and 45, the first of which is joined to a fixed point 47 of the frame by a return spring 46.
The function of this spring is to permanently return the forks 38-42 and 43 to their active position, that is to say, to the coupling position of the muffle clutches 37, 40 and 41, respectively.
In addition, a freely pivoting lever 48 on the journal 49 is superiorly terminated by a protrusion 50, the office of which is, moving below the lever 44, when the latter has been raised under the action of the eccentric 51, to engage this mechanical assembly.
The consequence of this engagement is to keep the three clutches 37, 40 and 41, disengaged and, consequently, to keep the head of the machine stationary.
For the purpose of returning the members to their normal position, a rod 52, terminated by a handle 53, is fixed to the lower part of the oscillating lever 48.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Furthermore; an eccentric 51 rotating freely on the journal 54 is integral with a rod 55, which is surrounded by a spring 56.
The free end of this rod is integral with a lever 58 fixed on the axis 59, which carries other levers 60 in number corresponding to that of the stretching tapes and of the wicks delivered by this bench head.
At the end of these levers 61, on the other hand, ended with a hook 62, which is normally placed above a camshaft 63, this rod is supported in its position es, by the pivoting levers 64 on journal 65 and will finish. their free end, by a stopper 66 normally in contact with the wick 67.
On the other hand, the same rods 61 are controlled by a stopper 74 normally in contact with the drawing tapes 68, the connection between the rods and the rods and 61 being made by means of a piece of tin 74. / two levers 69-70 pivoting respectively on the axes 71-72.
The lever 70 is terminated by a fork 73, which forms the ces
EMI5.1
connection between acedd # tringleSsolidaire'3 of the stator 74. This particular arrangement is adopted to allow greater ease of access to the shaft 32, in particular when the coupling cup is broken.
In order to immobilize the lever 61, in particular so that its hook * 62 is not driven by the cam 63, when the machine head is stopped, the following device is recommended:
On an axis 75 are arranged two small levers 76, between which is stretched a metal wire 77, the position of which is such that it is normally disposed under the extension of the hooks forming the end of the lever 62.
The end of the lever 78, which is also integral with the pin 75, is fixed at an intermediate point dela rod of
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
maneuver 52.
However, this lever 78 is permanently biased towards its initial position, by a wound spring 79. on a part of the rod 52 and pressing, on the other hand, against a fixed point.
By this position; the angled lever 48 is also ensured to remain under the lever 44 fixed to the axis 39.
Using the mechanical combinations developed above, the operation determining the automatic shutdown of the machine head is easily understood as follows:
When the wick 67 is broken or fails, the stopper 66 no longer being supported, releases the lever 61, the sputum-shaped end of which is gripped and driven by the cam 63, normally driven by a movement. reciprocating As a result, the lever 60 is moved in a rotational movement, thus driving the pin 59, the lever 58 and the rod 55.
Also, these movements result in the rotation of the eccentric 51, which lowers the lever 45.
Therefore, the axis 39 is moved according to a rotational movement of corresponding amplitude, which consequently results in a similar movement of the levers 38, 42 and 43, and, consequently, an erasure of the control devices. clutch 37, 40 and 41.
Since then; the axis 32, controlling the spirals and the feed rollers 36, the shaft 19, controlling the draw rollers 2, and the feed rolls 4 and, finally, the drum of the machine are stopped, which is therefore equivalent to total immobilization of the head of the spinning bench. he
Finally, the axis 39, at the same time that it transmits rotational movement to the clutch devices; lifted lever 44 while tensioning return spring 46.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
Consequently, the / lever 48 being placed under the lever
44 supports the latter by balancing the stress of said return spring 46, which is therefore momentarily without influence.
It is therefore sufficient to repair the break in the usual manner and, or even to provide the debit elements immediately after, to pull on the handle 53 of the operating rod.
52.
The purpose of this simple operation is to release the lever
48, which, no longer supporting the lever 44, allows the latter to move under the traction of the return spring 46.
By the same token, the spring 44 drives the axis 39 in a rotational movement such that the levers 38, 42 and 43 return the engagement devices 37, 40 and respectively. 41 in their active position, that is to say in their clutch position.
The head of the machine; is thus put back into action. Simultaneously due to the movement of the operating rod 52, the lever 78 moves rearwardly and the levers 76 disengage from the hooked ends of the rod 62, which is again returned to its initial position. that is to say, in such a position that the hook at the end is placed above the drive cam 63 and held there by the fact that the pins 66 and 74 are again supported by the bit 67 and the rod, respectively. ribbon 68.
