<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

"Manufacturing process of metal wheels, punches and dies and metal wheels
The present invention relates to a prooédé fabrication of metal wheels in a single piece, made from sheet metal.
Attempts have already been made to make metal wheels in a single piece from sheet metal, by bending and stamping it, but these processes have never been able to be carried out in practice due to the significant waste produced during manufacture. due to the formation of defects in the sheet.
To remedy this drawback, it is provided, according to the present invention, that after having stamped a sheet so as to transform it into an opener, the bottom of the opener is pushed back by stamping towards the inside of oelle-oi.
To advantageously carry out this process, it is provided, according to the invention, for the radius of curvature of the rounded edges of the dies and punches used for stamping to be equal to approximately 3.6 times the thickness of the sheet.
Other details and features of the invention appear.

tront during the description of the drawings appended hereto and which represent the invention sohematically.
Figure 1 shows a sheet ready to undergo the first phase of the process.
Figure 2 shows the part obtained at the end of this first phase.
Figure 3 shows the sheet ready to undergo the second phase of the process.
Figure 4 shows the wheel obtained at the end of this second phase.
To make a metal wheel according to the invention, we take a sheet 2 (Figure 1) which is placed on a stamping die 3. With a sheet of one millimeter thick, we choose for the radius of curvature of the rounding 3 has a value equal to approximately 3.6 millimeters. The same value is also chosen for the radius of curvature of the rounding 4a of the stamping punch 4. The ratio between these radii of curvature and the thickness of the sheet to be stamped is therefore much smaller than usual. .
The elements being placed in the position shown in Figure 1, the punch is driven into the die to the position shown in Figure 2. The stamped sheet is thus in the form of a bowl 2a. Of variable depth. according to the dimensions of the wheel.
In order to carry out the second phase of the process, the aperture 2a is first placed in a stamping die made up for example of two parts 5 and 6 (FIG. 3). Then the stamping punch 7 is introduced into part 5.
The second phase consists in pushing the bottom of the opening 2a towards the inside of oelle-oi by stamping, so that the elements are presented in FIG. 4. A metal wheel is thus obtained according to the invention 2b having a bead. 2d thanks to the indent 5a
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
that Exhibit 5 presents. Withdrawal 5a as well as the edge 7a of the punch favor the pushing back of the bottom inside the opening without causing cracks, folds or other defects at the place of birth of the rim and the disc or "veil", thanks to the fact that the lateral faoe of the or vette can be pushed back laterally in this recess. Depending on the shape to be given to the bead 2don will obviously modify the shape of the indentation 5a as well as of the edge 7a of the punch 7.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiment shown and that many modifications can be made in the shape and the constitution of the elements involved in its realization without going beyond the scope of the present patent.
