<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

1 ) à hauteur voulue d'après le réglage de la position de la scie par la montée ou la descente du support de son arbre sur la colonne ;
2 ) en profondeur, par le mouvement d'approche résul- tant du déplacement de la colonne sur sa base transversalement au banc et au chariot ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

1 ) d;'amener le chariot porteur le long de la haie à couper ;
2 ) de régler la hauteur de coupe par le déplacement du support G de l'arbre de la scie ;
3 ) de régler la coupe en profondeur par la manivelle K pour faire avancer ou reculer la scie perpendiculairement au grand axe du chariot ;
4 ) de couper sur toute la longueur du banc par la manivelle M pour faire avancer la soie de l'arrière à l'avant du chariot ;

machine for cutting the hedges at the desired height and mounted on a transporter cart
The present invention relates to an improved apparatus for cutting hedges at the desired or desired height.
It is based on the use of a circular saw mounted on a vertical shaft which communicates its rotational movement to it.
The vertical saw shaft is carried by a vertically movable support allowing the saw to be raised or lowered and placed at a suitable height for the cut to be made.
The saw shaft support is carried by a frame forming a column along which it can move vertically or be fixed at a desired height.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The column supports the motor (electric, gasoline or petroleum) necessary to ensure the rotation of the circular saw.
The column designated above rests on a base, which in turn rests on a bench of great length and along which it can move.
The movement that the column can receive relative to its base consists of a transverse movement relative to the bench of the apparatus.
The base of the column, on the contrary, receives a longitudinal movement with respect to the bench when it is made to move on it.
The bench in question above is fixed to the frame of a trolley mounted on wheels allowing the apparatus to be moved at will.
@
The apparatus forming the object of the present invention and comprising a circular bearing mounted on a vertical shaft driven by a motor and carried by a support capable of moving vertically on a column capable of transverse horizontal movement on a base it. - even mobile hd Zontally in the longitudinal direction of the bench or the transport trolley is such as to allow the cut to be made:
1) at the desired height according to the adjustment of the position of the saw by raising or lowering the support of its shaft on the column;
2) in depth, by the approach movement resulting from the displacement of the column on its base transversely to the bench and to the carriage;
3) over a sufficient length by moving the column and its base from one end of the length of the bench to the other.

The following description and the accompanying drawing indicate, by way of example, a particular schematic embodiment of the apparatus.
Saw A is mounted on vertical shaft B.
This shaft B is carried by the support C with respect to which it can turn in bearings.
The support C is supported on the column D on a face forming a slide.
A crank E actuating an endless screw ensures, according to a known method, the upward or downward movement of a nut fixed to the support C which drives the support.
The motor F is also supported by the column and communicates its movement to the shaft B by bevel gears G (by tangent screw and helical wheel or by any other means).
As the motor is fixed on the column and the saw shaft is movable vertically, the latter is provided with a long wedge H (either shaped into a square) which allows the vertical movement of the shaft without remove the control of its rotational movement by the motor.
Column D is movable on its base J forming a slide. The displacement of the column on the base can be obtained by a crank K rotating a worm which causes the movement of a nut fixed to the column.
The base J of the column can move from one end to the other of the bench L which forms a slide. The movement of the base is obtained by a crank M rotating an endless screw which causes the forward or backward movement of the base and the column from one end of the bench to the other by a nut fixed to the based.
The bench L is fixed to the frame N of a trolley mounted on wheels and provided with a brake.

The apparatus consists of the use of safe and proven devices and its mode of operation and construction. tion is such as to allow:
1) to bring the carrying carriage along the hedge to be cut;
2) to adjust the cutting height by moving the support G of the saw shaft;
3) adjust the depth cut by the crank K to move the saw forward or backward perpendicular to the major axis of the carriage;
4) cut along the entire length of the bench using the crank M to advance the tang from the back to the front of the carriage;
5) progressively continue the cut by bringing the saw back to the rear of the carriage and advancing it by a length equal to that which has just been cut.
