 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Improvement in skin shaving machines for
 EMI1.1
 furs. .. 1 1 1 1, - #, # .ti # Sm # * # <- # ##
The fur hides shaving machines have an endless conveyor apron which brings the hides past a drum carrying helical blades and rotating at high speed.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   Up to this day, the skins, whether or not assembled in strings, had to be guided by hand towards the knives, which is dangerous and does not ensure a work absolutely free from defects, while requiring labor.

   The present invention aims to amé. improve this state of affairs by providing shaving machines with a device which automatically guides the skins.

   This device consists of a series of parallel flexible links, which are applied to the skins and accompany them during their passage in front of the knives.

   The skins are thus kept flat against the apron, which prevents them from pruning and ensures regular shaving.

   The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an improved shaving machine in accordance with the invention.

   Figure 1 is a general diagram.

   Figure 2 shows a detail, from the front.

   The endless apron 1, driven by the drum 2, and guided by the roller 3, suddenly buckles on the cylindrical rod 4, placed in front of one of the fields of the plate 5, supporting this part of the apron.

  In front of the rod 4, turns the drum 6 carrying the helical blades 6a.

   A short distance in front of this drum and close to the upper surface of the apron, the roller 7 is arranged, comprising circular grooves.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 layers 7a distributed over its length at regular intervals (for example, from 3 to centimeters).

   The journals of this roller turn freely at the end of the arm 8, fixed in an adjustable manner on the body of the machine; these arms have, for example, slots 8a in which rods 8b integral with the body of the machine engage and onto which nuts or clamping screws are screwed. This arrangement makes it possible to adjust the position of the roller 7. Another roller, provided with grooves similar to 7a and crazy, 9, is located under the apron and others, 10,11,12 and 13, form the tops of 'a polygonal circuit embracing the rear of the machine.

   Endless links 14, flexible and thin, which can be quite simply strings bind all these rollers together, coming to apply on the apron in the region, of the rod 4. Each oes links pass through one of the grooves of rollers 7,9,10,11,13 and 13 Their whole constitutes a continuous web. They are stretched at the same time as the position of the roller 7 is adjusted, thanks to the arrangement of the arms 8. the skins 15, placed on the apron 1, are gripped between the latter and the web of links 14 and are guided to the front of the knives, remaining applied flat on the apron, which ensures great regularity work, avoids cuts in the skin and reduces the manpower required.

   In addition, the roller 7 acts as a handguard.

   It goes without saying that the invention is not strictly limited to the device described above and shown, but can give rise to variants based on the same principle.
