BREVET d'INVENTION
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

Descriptive memorandum filed in support of a request for
Patent
The object of the invention is a bundling of wire, as it is supplied commercially under the name of skein, waste, torch, etc. In the present case, the invention will be explained using the term skein.
We know that the yarn in a skein is twisted into a ball shape before it is used. It is often not easy at all to find the comment of the yarn on the skein. It also happens that to avoid unraveling the starting thread, an object, for example a roll of paper, a piece of cardboard, etc., is provided on which the ball is wound. The starting thread is in such a case arranged on the side or left free, and due to any circumstances can not be found or only after long searches.
These drawbacks are overcome by the present invention, thanks to the fact that one of the yarns of the skein, before the yarn at the start of the skein, is attached a star winder (winding member ) .We always find the thread of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
start and you immediately have an object around which the thread can be wound.
The invention is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawing, or,
Fig.I is a view of a éoheveau provided with a star winder (winding member) according to the invention,
Figs. 2 to 9 show in view different particularly advantageous embodiments of star winders (winding members) shown on a larger scale.
As already indicated, a yarn from a bundle of yarn is advantageously attached to the start yarn of a bundle of yarn of any size, in the present case a skein a is also attached in any manner whatsoever to a star winder. (winding unit)] 2 ,.
The starter wire can be clamped in the star-black bobbin (winding member), fixed to the latter by means of a clip, a metal eyelet or be attached or connected in a similar manner. - boastful is represented in several embodiments in the drawing.In the embodiments shown, it is thus possible without changes of any kind to the usual fixing of the threads, to attach the star winder (winding member ) over the beginning.
According to the invention, in the winder or winding member there is provided a hole ±. In which the wire can be brought through a slot d (compare Fig.I) In this embodiment still persists. There is a certain danger that by pulling on the winder or winding member the wire may be relatively easily withdrawn through the slit, since this slit extends in a radial direction. This is why in the embodiment of Fig. 2. the slot d is arranged outside the normal direction of traction, so that by pulling on the winder or winding member it is not possible to make the wire exit so easily through the slot. obtains the same result by the variant of Fig. 3,
in which the slot b is brought closer it is true to the direction of the traction, but emerges tangentially in the hole c.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
In the variants of Figs. 4 to 6, the hole intended to receive the wire is triangular in shape; in this case it is important that the slot does not open into the corner, through which the wire is normally suspended, but in an angle opposite. Thus the window can start from this angle and end at the outer edge of the star or winding member (compare Fig. 4), it can also have an angular outline, as shown in Fig.
5 and 6.11 is advantageous in the case of providing at the apex of the angle a small cutout e.great which the introduction of the wire into the hole 0 is facilitated.
As shown in Fig. 7, the hole a may also not exist and be replaced by a slit, in which the wire is simply tied. The slit will then present an angular, arched, hook-shaped profile, zig-zag or wavy.
As with every bundling of wire of sufficient size, the weight should usually be indicated, it is very advantageous to also use the winder or winding member as a label. In this case the shape of the winder or winding member is indifferent, whether it is circular or rectangular and has the shape of a label, and that more or less.
The winder or winding member can also be used to carry the trademark as well as to serve for advertising. In the former case, there is the advantage that after using a ball of yarn, the anyone who has used it can immediately see on the winding machine or winding member which brand and what quality they have used, and can thus get to the same brand again.
For the winding of the wire on the winder or winding member, it is particularly advantageous to give it a floss-toothed contour, because when winding the wire remains tight, as indicated in A, and cannot slide. as in the case of serrations of equilateral profile, towards the lowest point of the notch and thus come off,
It is obvious that we can also manufacture the label or the winder (winding member totally or partially in various materials, for example, the outer edge f
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
or part g of the label, where the wire is attached, may be framed in metal, cardboard, paper or any other resistant material,
in the event that the label itself is not made of a rigid and resistant material. Nothing also prevents the bringing together of the different oarasteristics which have just been mentioned, that is to say from reinforce the edge as well as the part of the label intended for suspension as shown.
