Apparatus for cutting fruits and the like into cubes, strips and slices.
Devices are already known for cutting fruits and the like into cubes, strips and slices. However, complicated and therefore expensive constructions have hitherto been opposed to an extension of their use.
The apparatus according to the invention, described below, presents, by virtue of its simple, convenient and consequently inexpensive method of construction, a notable advantage and enables every housewife to obtain this apparatus.
Another notable advantage lies in that, during cutting, it is not the fruit that is moved, but the knives. In addition, due to the symmetrical arrangement of the knives fixed on a slide, the fruit is cut during each back and forth movement, so that very rapid work is obtained.
The attached drawing shows such a device:
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Fig.l is a cross-sectional view, and
Fig. 2 is a top plan view, while
Fig.Z shows a side elevational view of the knives.
The apparatus consists of a frame A, the side walls of which have recessed parts, -. Above the frame there is an opening, in which a knife grid B is housed. Below the knife grid B can move a slide (!. Which is guided in the recessed parts al.
In the middle part of the slide is formed, by stamping, an opening c2 and the material thus obtained is folded upwards to be used as support c1 for the knife D.
In front of the two ridge. The cutting edges of knife D are one or two rows of vertically positioned c3 knives, which are attached to a separate metal plate and which are engaged in dovetail slides of slide C. At the ends of the slide are provided handles 04, which simultaneously serve as stops.
The dicing is carried out as follows: we first push an onion, for example, through the knife grid B, until it meets the ooulisseau C, which thus limits its thickness. By a longitudinal displacement of the slider C, the vertical knives c3 produce further notches, at right angles to the first notches made by the knives B, and the knife D completes the dicing, which fall through the opening c2 in a container placed below. By removing the vertical knives ± 3, only strips can be cut, and by removing the knife grid B again, only slices or are cut. washers.
It is possible, by placing plates on the slide, to further adjust the thickness of these slices.
