<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

The present invention relates to an anti-tilt device for an outer door covering the door having an inner face facing the interior of a building and an outer face facing outward of said building, said door having hinges which are composed of a first and a second metal part, the first metal part being disposed above the second metal part, the two parts being moreover locked in one another and joined on a common axis around which the at least one of them can turn freely.
Exterior doors provide access to the interior of a building. They must contribute to both the security and the comfort of the homes. Exterior doors are therefore manufactured to fulfill several functions: to allow the passage of people, objects, air, close the bay to people, bad weather, noise, dust. Exterior doors must also be sufficiently secure against break-ins.
Generally, the exterior doors are equipped with an anti-burglary lock. However, to avoid the disengagement of these doors, the manufacturers provide bucks that fit into the frame. A disadvantage is that it has to drill the frame in several places to allow the installation of doors with such bits. In addition, this anti-disengagement device is often faulted because it can be sawn and burglary is possible.
The object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages and for this it provides an anti-disengagement device which comprises a first planar rigid material part fixed vertically along the first metal part and also fixed along a
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
door jamb and also a second flat part of rigid material which is fixed vertically along the second metal part said flat portions of rigid material covering at least a portion of the outer face and the inner face of the door and the two parts rigid material planes being folded so as to fit one into the other when the door is in the closed position.
In this way, in the event of an attempt to disengage an outer door provided with the anti-disengagement device of the present invention, this does not succeed for the following reasons:
When an individual tries to break the door, introduces a tool between the frame and the door with the intention of lifting the hinges or cutting the hinges of the door, he accentuates the fold formed by the flat parts of rigid material nested one in the other instead of spreading it, which makes it impossible to access the hinges and thus makes the break-in impossible if the lock is also resistant to break-ins.
Other embodiments of the device according to the invention are indicated in the appended claims.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent from the description given below, without limitation, and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a cross section of a door provided with an embodiment of the anti-disengagement device of the invention.
Fig. 2 shows a cross section of a door provided with an embodiment of the anti-disengagement device of the invention comprising a first seal.
Fig. 3 and FIG. 4 show a cross section of a door provided with an embodiment of the anti-disengagement device of the invention comprising a first and a second seal.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Fig. 5 shows a cross section of a door provided with an embodiment of the anti-disengagement device of the invention comprising a second seal.
Fig. 1 illustrates an anti-disengagement device according to the present invention in which the first and the second planar portion rigid material fit into one another when the door is in the closed position.
In a preferred embodiment, the anti-shaving device 1 is composed of a first flat portion made of rigid material 2 and a second flat portion of rigid material 3 comprising a first ply 4 and a second ply 5 which have an acute angle. The second ply 5 is in a direction opposite to that of the first ply 4 and the two planar portions made of rigid material fit at the level of the first ply 4 and at the level of the second ply 5.
The first flat portion 2 is fixed along the frame 6 and is also fixed to the hinges 7, preferably to the upper part thereof and is also fixed on at least a portion of the outer face 8 and the face internal 9 of the door 10.
The second flat part 3 is also fixed to the hinges 7, preferably to the lower part thereof and it is also fixed on at least a part of the outer face 8 and the inner face 9 of the door 10.
The outer face 8 of the door 10 denotes the face which faces outwards of the building as opposed to the inner face 9 of the door 10, which is oriented towards the interior of the building. In this way, when the door 10 is closed, the plane portions 2,3 fit into one another in a double fold 4,5 which preferably has a Z-shaped cross section. The application of pressure on this double fold 4.5 only tightens it and as this double fold 4.5 is located between the frame 6 and the door 10, it becomes impossible to access
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
to the hinges 7, whatever the instrument used to attempt to disengage the door provided with such an anti-disengagement device 1.
In a preferred embodiment, the first and the second flat portion of rigid material cover the entire outer face and the entire inner face of the door. The device according to the invention is the door itself, which makes it possible to manufacture at low cost doors with excellent protection against break-ins without having to add separate devices very expensive.
In order to improve the comfort of the dwelling on which a door provided with this anti-disengagement device of the invention must be installed, it is intended to add gaskets.
Fig. 2 illustrates an embodiment of the anti-loosening device 1 of the invention in which a first seal 11is provided.
This is preferably arranged along the frame 6, between the hinges 7 and the two plane portions 2,3. Thus, when the door 10 is in the closed position, there is no free space between the plane parts 2,3 and the hinges 7 since this space is occupied by a seal. This seal 11in addition to be useful for improving the sealing of the door, is an additional safety factor.
Fig. 4 and FIG. 5 illustrate embodiments of the anti-degonding device of the invention in which two seals 11, 12 are provided. Indeed, in addition to the first seal 11 as described above, a second seal 12 is arranged along the door frame where the door 10 is supported in the closed position, which further increases the sealing qualities of said door 10 These seals 11, 12 may, as illustrated in FIG. 5 be surrounded by a metal fold 13 so as to be protected.
The invention also provides a door 10 provided with the unhinging device 1 as described in the present invention.
Said door being an outer door covering whose direction of opening is indifferent. Indeed, the anti-disengagement device 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
of the invention is adaptable both on doors 10 opening to the outside of the building as is the norm in some countries such as Japan, as on external doors opening towards the interior of the building as is the case in Europe. This anti-disengagement device 1 can be manufactured in any rigid material making it possible to manufacture a door 10 such as metals, wood and PVC. Thus, it is easy to manufacture doors having this anti-disengagement device 1 with a varied door finish.
