7-mod. A) à l'extrémité duquel vient se fixer, à l'aide d'une pince (2-fig. 7-mod. A), une palette (1-fig. 7-mod. A).
7 - mod. A).
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
8 mod. A) et le sac correspondant (9-fig. 8-mod. A), ainsi que la petite palette (1-fig. 8 - mod. A).
2-mod. A) initialement indépendant du sac (9-fig. 1 - mod. A).
3 Mod. A).
Mod. A.
4 Mod. A).
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
7 Mod. A.
6-mod. A).
Pour ce dernier deux variantes existent.
La première (fig. 7 Mod.
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
7-mod. A).
9 - mod. A).
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

DEVICE FOR PICKING UP ANIMAL DEJECTIONS, ESPECIALLY CANINE.
The invention which is the subject of this work is a device for collecting animal excrement, characterized by its compactness as well as by its practical and hygienic use. Most of the models existing until today are handicapped by
EMI1.1
disadvantages such as their size, their lack of hygiene or their relatively high acquisition cost.
This new system will be able to perfectly meet the expectations of animal owners by eliminating these main disadvantages.
The complete device is made up of two main elements themselves composed of a series of parts, some disposable, others reusable.
With regard to these two elements, we will characterize them one as being the active element, namely that with which we will move the excrements (16-fig. 7-mod. A) and the other as the passive element , that is to say the one who will welcome the excrement.
EMI1.2
The active element is composed of a handle (3-fig. 7-mod. A) at the end of which is fixed, using a clamp (2-fig. 7-mod. A), a palette (1-fig. 7-mod. A).
The passive element is also composed of a retractable handle, provided with a brake, composed of a small clamp (6-fig. 7), the teeth of which will be received in the notches (19-fig. 8 ) in order to lock the handle in the extreme positions.
(4 and 5-fig. 7-mod. A) at the end of which is fixed a foldable frame (8-fig. 7-mod. A) on which a small hermetic bag is installed (9-fig. 7 - mod. A).
Let’s highlight now that there are two variants with regard to the excrement bag.
These variants will be explained in detail later.
When acquiring our system, the handles will appear as being nested one inside the other.
EMI1.3
More explicitly, we will say that the handle of the active element (3-fig. 8-mod. A) will "slide" inside the handle of the passive element (5-fig. 8-mod. A), the latter being obviously hollow, being it in the retracted position The dimensions of the assembly are therefore limited to those of the passive handle in the retracted position (4-fig. 8-mod. A), which therefore gives us great compactness.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
It is necessary to add to this set the frame (8-fig. 8 mod. A) and the corresponding bag (9-fig. 8-mod. A), as well as the small palette (1-fig. 8 - mod. A) .
As we had previously suggested, two variants are possible for said bag.
A variant, which we will designate by model A, consists of having a frame (8-fig. 2-mod. A) initially independent of the bag (9-fig. 1 - mod. A).
The method of fixing the bag is as follows:
We place the frame (8) in a semi-open position using the tab (10), as shown in Figure 2 of Mod. AT.
We pass through the front of the frame the bag (9) by pulling it from the bottom, making sure that the side of the edge of the bag with the twine (15) is placed at the top of the frame (8) so that it is free of all soiling (see Figure 3 Mod. A).
Once the edges of the bag (9-fig. 3-mod. A) are at the height of the frame (8-fig. 3-mod. A) we proceed to its fixing.
To do this we fold the edges of the bag by first folding one of the side sides of the frame, after which we attach it to the latter using small snaps (11 and 36).
We repeat the operation with the opposite side (see fig. 3 Mod. A).
We fully deploy the frame, as shown in fig. 4 of
Mod. AT.
At this time, the articulated part (17) not yet covered by the bag, will come to be housed automatically in the fold of the latter.
(see detail in fig. 4 Mod. A).
So we see that with this system, the frame (8-fig. 4-mod. A) is thus completely protected by the fold of the bag (9-fig. 4-mod. A) and will neither be in contact with the soil, or in contact with excrement.
On the other hand we see that the edges of the bag are also protected from dirt because placed inside the fold, which will ensure great hygiene for the user during the closing operation of the bag.
Also note that three of the four interior sides of the bag remain clean, only one side being in contact with the ground.
This small soiled part of the edge of the bag, when the frame is folded (8-fig. 4 and fig. 8-mod. A), will slip between the two half rectangles, one sliding over the other.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
EMI3.1
The second variant, or model B, is a bag-frame assembly (22 and 24 fig. 2 and 3-mod B) prefabricated and inseparable.
1 The operation of fixing the bag to the frame is then nonexistent and, after use, it will be the bag-frame assembly which will be discarded as shown in fig.
5 of Mod. B.
The attachment of the bag-frame assembly on its handle (5-fig. 8-mod. A) will be identical for the Mod. A and for Mod. B.
This will be done using the fixing system (18 and 21-fig. 10-mod. A) Once this last operation has been carried out, all that remains is to pull on the handle (4 and 5- Fig. 8-mod. A) telescopic in order to bring it from its retracted position to its position of use which is shown in fig. 7 Mod. AT.
The passive element is then ready for use.
Regarding the active element, it will be ready for use after having fixed the pallet (1-fig. 5-mod. A) on the clamp (2-fig. 6-mod. A) located at the end of the handle (3-fig. 6-mod. A).
For the latter two variants exist.
The first (fig. 7 Mod. A) uses a handle (2) whose length equals that of the handle of the passive element in the retracted position (4 or 5).
We will designate this model as being the compact model.
Its use therefore implies a flexion of the user.
For people put off by this kind of effort, especially the elderly, other variants of different sizes have been provided.
The two elements being ready for use, which we represent in fig. 7 of Mod A, we will now carry out the waste collection operation.
To do this, we will place, still holding it by its handle (4), the passive element near the excrement (16), only one of the sides of the bag (9) resting on the ground, and using the active element, we will push these excrements through the opening of the bag (9) surrounding the frame (8) in order to place them inside of it.
So we see that the operation is extremely simple and that it can be carried out on smooth surfaces as well as on rough surfaces such as corners, ditches, paving stones, grass, muddy, stony terrain , etc.
It should be noted that dog ejections often occur several times, which implies that we will have to use the system more than once during the walk.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Therefore, after the first use, we will limit ourselves to closing the bag (9-fig. 8-mod. A) by folding the frame (8-fig. 8-mod. A); and to replace the handle in the retracted position and to slide them one inside the other, as shown in fig. 8 of Mod. AT.
This will allow us to repeatedly pick up the waste, always using the same bag (9) and the same pallet (1).
It should be noted that this retracted position can be reached with the frame fixed on its handle, this thanks to the slot (7-fig. 7-mod. A).
At the end of the walk, and after repeating the operation several times, all that remains is to get rid of the pallet (1-fig 9-mod. A) and the bag (9-fig. 10 -mod. A) containing the excrement.
This pallet is put inside the bag simply by spreading the teeth of the clamp (2-fig. 9-mod. A) ensuring its fixing on the handle (3-fig. 9 - mod. A).
It then falls into the bag without the manipulator coming into contact with it.
After that we close the bag.
In the Mod. A, this one, represented in FIG. 11 and 12, will be carried out after dissociating the frame (8) and its handle (5) as shown in fig. 10 of Mod. AT.
We fold the frame slightly and dissociate the bag (9) from the frame (8) by separating the small fixing buttons (11 and 36).
Note that the parts of the bag that we handle, namely the two side edges of the bag and the edge with the string (15), were not in contact with the ground or with the excrement.
It only remains for us to pull on the string (15-fig. 12-mod. A) to close the bag tightly (9-fig. 12-mod. A) and thus avoid any odor.
The bag containing the pallet (1) and the excrement (16) is thrown in the trash as shown in fig. 12 of mod. AT.
The frame is completely clean and reusable.
In the Mod. B this operation is simplified, since the frame (22) and bag (24) are made inseparably and therefore after having folded the frame, the assembly is separated from its handle (5), and the assembly is thrown in the trash as shown in fig. 5 of Mod. B.
At the end of the operation we are therefore left with the recoverable parts, namely the sleeves of the active and passive elements (3,4 and 5), as well as, for the Mod. A, the frame (8) ready to receive a new bag.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
It should be noted that, in addition to its ease of use as well as its dimensions which make it perfectly transportable, this device perfectly meets strict hygiene rules, since the recoverable parts have in no case been brought into contact with the dirt, and therefore should not be cleaned or disinfected, and that all the soiled parts have been removed.
