<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing concrete frame elements, in which a body is placed in a mold before pouring fresh concrete into it.
It is known that, in order to save material for cost reasons, a body is introduced into the mold for manufacturing the structural element, before pouring fresh concrete into it, in order to obtain a hollow frame element. The hollow frame element thus produced is thereby reduced.
However, in order to preserve the shape of the structural element, it was necessary to leave the body in the structural element until the fresh concrete set, in order to ensure sufficient stability to the internal walls of the structure. 'hollow frame member. In addition, the introduced body itself had to be lighter than the saved concrete.
Furthermore, the material of the introduced body had to be compatible with concrete, in particular as a function of time. The body used comprises for example a tube made of cardboard material and it has been found that this tube had the drawback of absorbing water. This absorption of water by the tube caused the latter to swell, which caused the concrete to crack. The problem therefore arose of being able to produce a hollow structural element without having to use a body which had to remain in the structural element until

that the setting of fresh concrete, while ensuring the absence of internal deformation thereof.
The invention aims to solve this problem. To this end, in the method according to the invention, a mandrel is introduced into the mold having a predetermined cross section and passing through the mold from side to side, fresh concrete is poured into the mold so as to directly coat the mandrel on all its periphery and the mandrel is extracted during the demolding in the fresh state of the structural element, so as to obtain a structural element retaining its shape after the extraction of the mandrel and the demolding. Thus, the absence of absorbent material on the periphery of the hollow of the frame member makes it possible to avoid cracking of the concrete, the formation of cracks and, ultimately, the breaking of the frame member.
Thanks to an additional aspect of the invention defined in subclaims 5 to 7, a particularly convenient extraction of the mandrel is obtained.
Other aspects of the invention are defined in the other subclaims.
Other features and advantages of the invention will appear from the more detailed description given below, by way of example, with the aid of the appended drawings.
Figures 1 to 3 show different steps of a method according to the invention.
FIG. 4 represents a cross-sectional view of a first embodiment of a frame element obtained by the method according to the invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
FIG. 5 represents a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of a frame element obtained by the method according to the invention.
FIG. 6 represents a cross-sectional view of a third embodiment of a frame element obtained by the method according to the invention.
Figure 7 shows a cross-sectional view of a fourth embodiment of a frame member obtained by the method according to the invention.
In general, the present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hollow frame element, such as a lintel, a slab, a post or a beam, and to the hollow frame element itself, in particular by Poured concrete.
In the process according to the invention, a mold 1 of elongated prismatic shape is used containing a parallelepiped volume which is placed on a support 2 as illustrated in FIG. 1. The mold has in particular four lateral faces 11, 12, 13 , 14 mutually perpendicular and has neither bottom nor top. The two mutually opposite end faces 11, 13 each have an orifice 10 arranged to allow the passage of a mandrel 4, said end faces being substantially rectangular. The mandrel 4 is intended 3 to form the hollow 5 in the structural element 3 and it is actuated for example by means of a jack not shown. The desired shape of the hollow in the frame member is printed by that of the mandrel.
In this regard, the mandrel 4 is introduced into the mold in the direction of the arrow F so as to pass through it longitudinally right through.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
After this operation, fresh concrete 15 is poured into the mold 1 through the free top of the latter, so as to completely surround the peripheral periphery of the mandrel 4 introduced into the mold 1, as shown in FIG. 2, and the mold 1 is subjected to vibrations during the pouring of fresh concrete 15 and / or after it.
Then, the mandrel 4 is completely removed from the mold 1 in the opposite direction indicated by the arrow G in FIG. 3. The withdrawal of the mandrel from the mold can be facilitated by giving a particular shape to it, as will be discussed in more detail below.
After the withdrawal of the mandrel 4, an immediate demolding is carried out by lifting the mold 1 in the direction of the arrow H, as illustrated in FIG. 3. After that, a hollow piece of fresh concrete is obtained, which retains its shape despite immediate release.
Next, the concrete of the demolded part is left to seize, and the desired hollow structural element 3 is thus obtained.
It should be noted here that the mold 1 could just as easily have a bottom. In this case, demolding would be done by inverting the mold as is known.
Now, we will look at different embodiments of the structural element itself, which are illustrated in Figures 4 to 7.
These are generally thin-walled frame elements 3, the reduction in cross-section of the element

hollow frame with respect to 3 a frame element having identical external dimensions being at least 25%, even 30% and even more. The realization of the aforementioned recess 5 saves material in similar proportions, which also results in a lightening of the frame element.
In a first embodiment according to the invention, illustrated in Figure 5, the frame element 3 is provided with a recess 5 whose cross section has the shape of what is called the full

hanger 18, that is to say that of an arc to be considered as the strongest to resist 3 a vertical load represented by the arrow A and to reduce lateral thrusts, one of them being represented by arrow B. The effect of said vertical load A and lateral thrusts B in the case of an oval hollow, conventional for a frame element 3 rectangular cross section, is illustrated in Figure 4 by the lines in broken lines.
From the vertical load A, there results a subsidence indicated by the reference a and the lateral thrusts B generate a lateral deformation indicated by the reference b. The deformations a and b are very troublesome. However, thanks to the invention described above, said deformations a and b do not appear.
The thickness of the walls is advantageously less than one third at the height of the keystone 19. In addition, the thickness is advantageously less than half, preferably one third, of the total width of the structural element 3 .
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
A similar result is obtained for any curved or polygonal shape approaching that of the full arch 18 (fraction of a circle). In addition, the arch 18 can also be slightly lowered. In order to ensure good convenience of extracting the mandrel 4 from the mold 1 as mentioned above, the non-arched part of the latter is given a slightly protruding shape 17 relative to the surface portion delimited by the arch or analogous and relating to the aforementioned vault 18. In the first and second embodiments, illustrated respectively in FIGS. 5 and 6, the projection 17 has a flattened V profile, the point of which faces outwards.
In a third embodiment illustrated in Figure 7, the projection has a curved and convex profile also facing outwards.
The second and third embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 6 and 7 further comprise a reinforcing reinforcement 7, for example a reinforced lattice, profiled so as to transversely reinforce the vault 18 and to support the keystone 19 longitudinally. reinforcement 7 mentioned above thus provides support further preventing the production of sagging and / or lateral deformation above.
