Tool clamping apparatus whose bearing base (1) is detachably and displaceably connected, according to the intended position of the clamped edge (16) of the tool, to a tool table (15) provided with retaining grooves (15.1) or to a press slide, in each case via connecting means (8, 9, 10), and, after the clamping height of the apparatus has been preset, in accordance with the thickness of the clamped edge (16) of the tool, the latter can be fixed by hydraulic or pneumatic means (5), characterized in that the bearing base (1) is provided, in a border region (1.5) of the clamped edge (16) of the tool, with a turret (2) which is rotatable about a pin (3) fixed in the bearing base (1) and over whose circumference or part circumference uniformly distributed clamping projections (2.1) are arranged at regularly increasing heights, the said clamping projections overlapping the clamped edge (16) of the tool in the position pointing towards the clamped edge (16) of the tool, and being fixed by locking pins (4) which are arranged under spring force in the turret (2) and engage a surface (1.2) of the bearing base (1), that a hydraulic cylinder (5) is mounted on the bearing base (1), on that side of the turret (2) which is opposite the border region (1.5), the piston rod (5.1) of the said cylinder terminating in a head (5.2) which forms a contect point, and that a forked head (1.4) is connected to the bearing base (1) between the turret (2) and the hydraulic cylinder (5), the said forked head forming a bearing for a swivel pin (7) and a rocker arm (6), the latter resting on the one hand on the head (5.2) of the piston rod (5.1) of the hydraulic cylinder (5) and on the other hand on a limiting part (2.2) of the turret (2), which limiting part likewise forms a contact point.
