Abstract

1437508 Clamping press tools; die holders KOMBINAT UMFORMTECHNIK ERFURT VEB 6 Dec 1973 [15 Dec 1972] 56480/73 Headings B3Q and B3H A clamping device (Figs. 1, 2), suitable for clamping a tool to the ram or work table of a deep drawing press, includes a clamping lever 1 pivotally supported by a pin 3 within the bifurcated lower ends 5 of a head 6, the head being vertically movable, by a threaded spindle 9 rotated by a compressed-air motor (not shown), within a housing 8 to control pivoting and clamp - ing of the arm. From the initial position, Fig. 1, in which the bevelled head of the lever holds it in an inclined position, the head is raised by the spindle, and the lever is pulled by a spring 11 into a vertical position, Fig. 5, abutting a plate 10. Further movement of the head draws the lower end of the lever into a clamping position. Elongated slots 4 and 7 in the ends 5 and housing 7 respectively allow pivotal movement of the lever.
