Control device for the air supply of motor-driven fans of furnaces.
It is known in the creation of underwinds with a fan set in front of the ash fall to install the fan with its drive motor in the end of a wind supply pipe attached to the ashen trap door in order to remove the fan and motor from the radiant heat of the fire. In this case, behind the fan, in the wind pipe for the purpose of regulating the supply of wind under

The invention now aims. to create the possibility of such facilities to suck in more or less air under the ash drop of the furnace, so that a coarse adjustment of the amount of air to be introduced is possible from the outset, which can then be fine-tuned in a known manner by adjusting the mentioned flap.
For this purpose the fan is used

arranged and in turn made lockable by a hinged lid. The adjustment of the known fine control flap mentioned in individual inclined positions or in the horizontal or vertical position takes place here according to the invention expediently by an adjusting rail articulated at its lower end, which protrudes outward through a longitudinal slot of the pipe or housing by means of appropriately arranged notches on one Detent arranged on the tube or housing can be determined in different positions.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. 1 shows the device in a vertical section through its central axis and FIG. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1 with individual parts in a different position.
The fan a is arranged with its drive electric motor b at the free end of an air supply pipe or housing e, which can be easily detachably connected by means of its other end after opening or removing the ash trap door with the front plate of the furnace or with the masonry of the latter, so that the air at driven fan is poked through this pipe into the ash fall.
The tube c is provided with an extension part d which can be opened (FIG. 2) and which in turn encloses the fan a and, in the embodiment shown, also partially encloses the motor b and which in turn can be closed by a hinged cover e. The closures of these parts to be opened can be of any type. When the cover e is open, part d serves to protect the fan. Depending on whether you open part d with the lid e or just the latter alone, you can let more or less air get under the ash fall.
A regulating and closing flap 1 that can be adjusted from the outside is arranged in the pipe c, which allows fine control of the amount of air to be introduced and, if it is to be switched off, a closure of the pipe or housing c. This control flap is expediently arranged next to the connecting end of the pipe c with the positioning plate so that it can swing about a horizontal axis g that it blocks the entire pipe cross-section in its vertical position (FIG. 1). The flap is set in this position if no air is to be supplied.
To regulate the air supply, the flap can be adjusted from the outside in various inclined positions and in the horizontal position for full air access. The setting is brought about by an adjusting rail i articulated at the lower end of the flap, which at the top passes through a longitudinal slot k of the tube c
