Air supply device for furnaces. With the present invention it is intended to create an air supply device, in particular for steam or duct ovens, as well as ovens with grate firing and the like, which works by means of an electric motor or another prime mover driven by a fan, which the known devices of this type has the advantage over the same that the fan with its drive motor is not exposed to the harmful heat radiation of the furnace.
To achieve this advantage, the fan with its drive motor is arranged at the free end of an air supply pipe that can be easily detached after opening or removing the ash trap door on the front plate or the masonry of the furnace, in such a way that the air flows through this pipe into the ash fall is pressed in, so that the fan with the motor, located away from the furnace, does not have to suffer from the heat radiation.
An example embodiment of the new air supply device is shown in the accompanying drawing. Fig. 1 shows the same in a vertical section through its central axis; FIG. 2 is a plan view of FIG. 1 with individual parts changed in position; Figure 3 is a detail.
As can be seen from this, the fan a with its drive electric motor b is arranged at the free end of an air supply pipe c, which can be easily detachably connected after opening or removing the ash trap door with the front plate of the furnace or with the masonry of the latter so that the air is pressed through this pipe into the ash fall when the fan is running.
As the drawing also shows, the tube c is provided with a fan a and in the illustrated embodiment partially also the motor b enclosing, hinged ble (Fig. 2) extension part d, which in turn can be closed by a hinged cover e. The closures of these parts to be opened can be of any type. Part d serves to protect the fan when the cover e is open. Depending on whether you open the part d with the lid e or just the latter alone, you can let more or less air fall under the ashes.
In addition, an externally adjustable control and closure flap f is arranged in the pipe c, which allows fine control of the amount of air to be introduced and, if it is to be switched off, a closure of the pipe or housing c. This control flap is expediently arranged next to the connecting end of the pipe c with the front plate so that it can oscillate about a horizontal axis g so that it shuts off the entire pipe cross section in its vertical position (Fig. 1). In this position, the flap is set when no air supply is to take place.
To regulate the air supply, the flap can be set in various inclined positions from the outside and in a horizontal position for full air access. The adjustment is brought about by an adjusting rail i articulated at the lower end of the flap. This adjusting rail occurs above through a longitudinal slot k of the tube c to the outside and is fixedly adjustable with correspondingly arranged notches l on a latch m fixed on the tube.
As can be seen in Fig. 2 of the drawing, the air supply pipe c has at the connection end with the front plate right angular or square cross section and goes over at the free end in a circular cross-sectional shape. To connect the pipe res c with the pre-plate are expedient in an edge flange ia the same with end extensions provided holes or slots o (Fig. 3), with which the pipe hangs on appropriate head screws, pins or the like of the pre-plate and depending on Can be taken off at will
