EMI1.1

EMI1.1
The subject matter of the present invention relates to a self-closing device for gas lines, by means of which it is achieved that a closure device mounted in the device folds down and closes the gas supply as soon as it is interrupted for a short or long time as a result of closing the gas tap, so that a pressure below the Swimmer resp. the closure member is not present at least for a short time, while at the same time the gas passage opening is selected so that the gas flowing in after opening the main valve is not sufficient to lift the closure member, but this must first be lifted by external action in order to return to normal to come into function.
The embodiment of this device forming the subject of the invention is shown in the drawing in two embodiments, namely shows
EMI1.2
a gas consumption apparatus, for example a lamp, gas cooker, heating apparatus, is mounted, while FIG. 2 shows the embodiment for a gas line below the end of which a gas consumption point is present, for example with a gas incandescent light hanging.
The working method is as follows: Should a z. B. attached to the self-closing device according to Fig. 1 stagnant gas incandescent light are ignited, the gas pressure entering through the inflow opening will not be able to lift the closure member d because its small cone does not form a sufficient contact surface. It is therefore necessary that the closure member is lifted by means of the mandrel c. As a result, the gas pressure passes under the closure member and presses it further upwards until the gas can pass through the channel f to the outflow opening i.
If the main gas cock is now closed and the burner cock remains open, the gas still present in the line will flow out and the closure element will lower down again as a result of the cessation of pressure and close the inlet opening.
However, the pressure that occurs again after opening the main tap is unable to lift the closure member and it is therefore impossible for gas to escape from the line as long as the lamp does not have to be reloaded by means of the mandrel f, which has to be operated by hand is ignited.
EMI1.3
Outflow or inflow channel, e in FIG. 2 is the connection channel leading to the gas outlet and g is the base plate of the closure member.
By appropriate dimensioning and arrangement of the channels and openings, the device can of course also be used as a pressure regulator. The individual parts of the device can of course be modified within the scope of the subject matter of the invention.
