Die bekannten Indikatorhähne weisen den Mangel auf, daß sie bei hohen Dampfspannungen und der hierdurch bedingten hohen Temperatur schon nach kurzem Gebrauch leicht undicht werden. Außerdem setzen sich diese Indikatorhähne wie die gewöhnlichen Kükenhähne leicht fest Der Grund für das Undichtwerden ist in der Anordnung der erforderlichen Entwässerungs- oder Abspritzöffnung, die bei den bekannten Indikatorhähnen in ein und derselben Kegelfläche wie die Hauptdurchtrittsöffnung des Kükens liegt, zu suchen. Diese Entwässerungsöffnung durchbohrt das Hahngehäuse und das Küken auf der einen Wandhälfte. Es dient somit bei den bekannten Indikatorhähnen in der Hauptsache nur die der EntwässerungsöfEnung gegenüberliegende Kükenmantelfläche zur Abdichtung, da die andere Mantelhälfte wegen der in ihr liegenden Abspritzbohrung nur sehr schmale Dichtflächen hat.
