Das Material für diesen   Schutxmantol   wird in folgender Weise hergestellt : Man legt mehrere Lagen   Haumwollgarno   übereinander und näht sie, zweckmässig mittelst einer geeigneten Maschine,   zusammen,   u. zw. der Länge und der Quere nach, wobei man darauf

Hierauf werden die so zusammengenähten Stoffstücke in ein Säurebad (am besten aus   Satz-oder Schwefelsäure) getaucht und während einer   von der Dicke der einzelnen Gewebelagon und von deren Anzahl abhängigen Zeit darin gelassen. Dadurch wird das Baumwollgewel) pprgamentiert und so widerstandsfähiger gemacht.

   Hierauf trocknet man das Ganze und schneidet es in die für den jeweiligen Zweck geeignete Form. 



   Das Material ist trotz seiner Leichtigkeit und Biegsamkeit so widerstandsfähig, dass es von Nägeln, spitzen Steinen,   Hieb-und Stichwaffen   und Geschossen, selbst Mantelgeschossen nicht durchbohrt werden kann. Soll das Material für Panzer benützt werden, so werden die einzelnen Stofflagen zweckmässig durch Gummi, Leim oder ähnliche Klebstoffe   zusammengeklebt.   



   PATENT-ANSPRÜCHE : 
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung widerstandsfähiger Schutzmäntel aus   Baumwollgeweben   für Radreifen, Riemen u. dgl., dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Stofflagen durch sich kreuzende, nahe aneinanderliegende Nähte miteinander vereinigt und durch nachfolgende   Behandlung   mit einer Säure   pergamentisiert   werden.
