Die gebräuchlichen Farbbänder für Bureaumaschinen aller Art und ähnliche Einrichtungen sind ohne weitere Vorkehrungen aus Abschnitten sehr langer Bänder hergestellt und daher bis an ihre äussersten Enden mit Farbstoff bedeckt. Das Einspannen solcher Farbbänder in die Maschinen ist daher ohne Beschmutzen nicht möglich.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind Farbbänder, welche ein sauberes Einspannen ermöglichen, da die Farbbänder nicht abfärbend ausgebildet sind, so dass ein bequemes und reinliches Arbeiten ermöglicht ist.
Der Gegenstand der Erfindung ist hiebei darin gelegen, dass das farbabgebende Band entweder mit einem nicht färbenden Überzug versehen ist oder dass der Überzug selbst Farbe enthält, um einen starken Typenschlag zu erreichen, oder dass der unter dem Typensehlag färbende Überzug auf ein an sich nicht färbendes Band aufgebracht ist. Die Erfindung selbst liegt darin, den Überzug so auszubilden, dass erst mit Hilfe des Typenschlages die Färbewirkung hervorgebracht werden kann. Zu diesem Zwecke werden in der Regel die Farbbandenden nicht färbend ausgebildet, d. h. die Enden enthalten wohl Farbe, um das Farbband von einem langen Stück heruntersehneiden zu können, jedoch sind sie mit einem erfindungsgemässen Überzug versehen.
In der Regel reicht die erfindungsgemässe Ausstattung so weit vom eigentlichen Bandende weg, dass auch das Einlegen in die Farbbandgabel ohne Beschmutzen möglich ist. Mit Rücksicht auf die normale Länge eines Farbbandes von etwa 10 m wird in der Regel eine Appretur der erfindungsgemässen Art an den Enden über eine solche Strecke vorgenommen werden, welche jedenfalls das saubere Einlegen des frisch aufgespannten'Bandes in die Farbbandgabel ermöglicht.
Es können aber auch wesentliche Teile, ja sogar das Band über seine ganze Länge in dieser Art ausgestattet sein. Zur Verwendung kommen Zellonlacke und ähnliches.
