Jedes einzelne Band wird dann, und zwar zweckmäßig, solange die Farbe noch ganz frisch ist, an seinen beiden Enden in Länge von etwa 3o bis :4o cm derart behandelt, daß diese farbfrei werden. Das Befreien der Enden des Bandes von der Farbmasse erfolgt durch Eintauchen in ein die Farbmasse auflösendes Mittel, wie z. B. Kohlenwasserstoffe oder gechlorte Kohlenwasserstoffe oder Mkohol und ähnliches. Darauf werden die Enden des Bandes getrocknet und schließlich in einen Lack, z. 13.
