Man hat deshalb vorgeschlagen, die Aussenseite der fertigen Ballonhülle, also jene Seite, welche von der Gummischicht frei ist, mit weniger auffälligen Farben zu besprengen oder zu bestreichen, um einerseits die gute Wirkung der gelbe Farbe beizubehalten, andererseits die genannten Nachteile zu vermeiden oder zu ver. uindern. Hiebei tritt aber eine teilweise Vermischung des gelben Farbstoffes mit dem zweiten Farbstoff ein, und zwar in solchem Masse, dass die Haltbarkeit des Stoffes erheblich leidet. Die Faser enthält dann zufolge Vermischung der Farben oder Verdrängung der gelben Farbe durch die zweite Farbe in einzelnen Stellen überhaupt keinen gelben Farbstoff mehr, so dass die Schutzgelbfärbung gegen die chemisch wirksamen Strahlen mehr oder weniger aof. gehoben ist.
Will man überhaupt eine einigermassen gleichmässige Nachfärbung der fertigen Ballonhülle mittels einer weniger auffälligen Farbe erreichen, so ist dies auch eine sehr mühe. volle Arbeit.
Durch die Erfindung werden diese Übelstände in einfachster Weise beseitigt und zwar dadurch, dass man das Gewebe zunächst in bekannter Weise vollständig gelb, durch- färbt und es dann nach dem Trocknen oberflächlich auf jener Seite, die bei Jer Hüllt die Aussenseite bilden soll, beliebig bedruckt. Die Wahl der Farbe erfolgt dann so, dass sie infolge der oberflächlichen Deckung des Gelbs eine unauffällige Mischfarbe ergibt. Man kann zu diesem Zwecke z. B. blau wählen, welches dann ein unauffälliges Grün ergibt, oder auch ein Blauschwarz oder Schwarz. Es ist nicht notwendig, dass man eine vollständige
Bedruckung der oberflächlichen Fläche vornimmt, vielmehr kann man die Deckung der auffälligen Gelbfarbe für die Entfernung auch dadurch erreichen dass man Streifen oder Muster aufdruckt.
Die Faser bleibt in der Hauptsache bei diesen Stoffen gelb, behält also die Schutz- färbung gegen die wirksamen Strahlen und die Haltbarkeit der Gummischicht bleibt dadurch völlig unbeeinflusst durch die nachträgliche oberflächliche Deckfärbung mittels wasserunlöslichen lichtechten Farben. Die Gummierung erfolgt zweckmässig erst, nachdem die einseitige oberflächliche Bedruckung vorgenommen ist und zwar auf der nicht bedruckten, gelb gefärbten Seite.
