Faucet, in particular for water pipes.
The subject of the invention is a tap, in particular for water pipes, with a stiffening body which carries the valve seat and is inserted into the housing, which is preferably pressed from sheet metal, on the latter of which, according to the invention, a pipe piece inserted into the housing is mounted, which in its upper part is the head piece of the tap records.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention in FIG. 1 in section; Figures 2 and 3 illustrate details.
A stiffening body 2 is inserted into the two-part tap housing 1, which is pressed from sheet metal, into which the part 3 carrying the screw thread for connecting the tap to the line is pushed. The head piece 5 of the tap is received by a pipe section 4 which is provided with a bracket 4a which encompasses the stiffening body 2. The stiffening body and the pipe section are designed in such a way that, in the assembled state, they secure one another against rotation and also prevent longitudinal movement of the pipe section. The pipe section has a lateral opening 7 which, together with the opening of the stiffening body, enables the liquid to pass through.
The inside of the pipe section is provided with a thread 6, into which the head piece 5 carrying the spindle is screwed. The spindle 8 has at its lower end a spherically twisted extension 9, by means of which the rubber ball 10 used for sealing can be pressed against the opening of the stiffening body 2 which also serves as the seat of the valve ball. A rubber cuff 12 surrounding the spindle is used to seal the spindle, the conical head of which enters a conical extension of the head piece. To operate the spindle, the handle 13 is provided on it, while the thread 14 in the spindle is used to generate the axial movement.
This thread 14 is provided with end walls at its upper and lower ends and the thread rib 15 engages in it, which is carried by the exchangeable insert 17 inserted in a slot 16 in the neck of the head piece 5. This insert piece is protected from falling out by the ring 18 placed on the neck. In this way, the movement of the spindle is limited, which is necessary to protect the ball 10. A mouthpiece 20 provided with a star-shaped insert 19 serving for jet control is placed on the tap at the outlet opening.
This tap is easy and cheap to make. After assembling the two housing halves, the pipe section 4 is first inserted from above and then the stiffening body 2 with the inserted threaded part 3 from the side. The parts 2, J and 4 can be tinned beforehand and it is then sufficient to heat the housing into which these parts are inserted in order to solder all parts together sufficiently securely. Of course, a different shape of the housing and a different design of the seal can also be selected without departing from the scope of the invention.
