Cross arm for cable carrier.
The invention relates to a new embodiment of the cross arms for line supports, in particular for wooden line poles of the A or pyramid shape. In the previously known arrangements, the transverse arm forms a rigid system by itself; a large number of such cross arms of the same extension but different spreading of the struts encompassing the mast had to be kept in stock in order for each of the various practical head widths of the A masts to be equipped (this also changes depending on the height at which the cross arm is to be attached) to find a suitable cross arm.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is eliminated and the attachment of the transverse arms is made easier by the mutually inclined struts of the transverse arm encompassing the mast being articulated at their free ends such that they can be adjusted relative to one another. Appropriate. a support piece is used for the insulators, to which the struts are hinged with their free ends; the articulated connection is best made with screw bolts.
One embodiment of the invention is shown in FIG. 1 in elevation, FIG. 2 in plan and FIG. 3 in section along line AA of FIG. 2. The transverse arm consists of the two horizontal struts 1 and 2, which are inclined towards one another and which are attached to the free end are each articulated on the support piece 3 of the post insulators 4 by means of screws 5,6. A suspension strut (tension strut) 7 or 8 is articulated to each of these struts by means of screws 9 and 10, respectively. The horizontal cross arm is fastened to the A-mast 11 by the screw 12, the struts 7, 8 by the screw 13.
All struts and support pieces are made from commercially available profile iron. Due to the articulated connections, this cross arm can be used for different mast thicknesses, different cross arm heights and for different mast shapes, since the angle between the two struts 1 and 2 is adjustable.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Transverse arm for cable carriers, in particular for A and pyramid masts, characterized in that its struts which surround the mast and are inclined towards one another are articulated at their free ends, so that they can be adjusted to one another.
