Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para identificar una población de fitopatógenos que incluye variantes en un campo o invernadero, comprendiendo el método: a) recolectar un conjunto de muestras en un lugar que comprende al menos parte de un organismo fitopatógeno nocivo; b) procesar el conjunto de muestras; y analizar cada muestra mediante un análisis de secuencia de metagenoma completo, produciendo así lecturas de metagenoma completo; c) secuenciar ADN y/o ARN del organismo nocivo y determinar una o más secuencias de ADN y/o ARN; d) opcionalmente, someter las lecturas del metagenoma completo a procedimientos de control de calidad que comprenden la eliminación de lecturas no fitopatógenas; e) comparar las lecturas restantes con una o más matrices de k-meros de hongos conocidos mediante la descomposición de las lecturas en un conjunto de k-meros derivados de muestras de aproximadamente 300 pares de bases; y f) analizar las tablas de lectura del modo k-mer para determinar la muestra biológica basándose en el análisis comparativo de k-mer con subtipos de hongos conocidos u otras muestras biológicas con resultados o composición taxonómica conocidos; y g) introducir información sobre la resistencia de la población de fitopatógenos determinada, que comprende cada variedad individual determinada en la muestra, así como la ocurrencia de cada variedad individual en un mapa de calor de resistencia y/o un módulo de predicción de resistencia.
