Abstract
Se describe una composición farmacéutica para tratar infecciones bacterianas de la piel, quemaduras y heridas. Comprende un ingrediente activo, preferiblemente mupirocina, un biopolímero, preferiblemente quitosano, con un peso molecular en el rango de 250.000 Da a 600.000 Da, y un grado de desacetilación no menor al 80%, colágeno hidrolizado, preferiblemente de tipo I, con peso que varía de 3 kDa a 6 kDa, y una base de ungüento que comprende agentes emulsionantes, glicoles y solubilizantes. La presente tiene una mayor estabilidad que los ungüentos existentes, cura la piel y reepiteliza más rápido que los tratamientos existentes, reduciendo así el período de hospitalización.
