Abstract

Se proporciona (Z,Z,E)-1-cloro-6,10,12-pentadecatrieno que se puede sintetizar sin una reacción de oxidación y un método para la preparación de (Z,Z,E)-7,11,13-hexadecatrienal mediante el empleo de (Z,Z,E)-1-cloro-6,10,12-pentadecatrieno, pero sin utilizar una reacción de oxidación. Más específicamente, se proporciona un método para la preparación de (Z,Z,E)-7,11,13-hexadecatrienal que comprende un paso de hacer reaccionar un reactivo de Grignard en el cual (Z,Z,E)-1-cloro-6,10,12-pentadecatrieno se convierte con ortoformiato de etilo para obtener (Z,Z,E)-1,1-dietoxi-7,11,13-hexadecatrieno, y un paso de tratar el (Z,Z,E)-1,1-dietoxi-7,11,13-hexadecatrieno con un ácido para obtener (Z,Z,E)-7,11,13-hexadecatrienal.
