Abstract

Procesos, comercialmente viables e industrialmente ventajosos para la preparación de agomelatina o una sal de la misma, con alto rendimiento y pureza, usando intermediarios. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para la preparación de agomelatina, N-[2-(7-metoxi-1-naftalenil)etil]acetamida, de fórmula (1) o una sal de la misma, caracterizado porque comprende: a) hacer reaccionar 7-hidroxi-1-tetralona de fórmula (2) con ácido cianoacético de fórmula (7) o una sal del mismo, para dar (7-hidroxi-3,4-dihidro-1-naftalenil)acetonitrilo de fórmula (3) o una sal del mismo; b) reducir el compuesto de fórmula (3) con un agente de reducción adecuado para dar 2-(7-hidroxi-3,4-dihidro-1-naftalenil)etanamina de fórmula (4) o una sal de adición ácida de la misma; c) someter el compuesto de fórmula (4) o una sal de adición ácida del mismo a aromatización haciéndose reaccionar con un reactivo adecuado para dar 2-(7-hidroxi-1-naftil)etanamina de fórmula (5) o una sal de adición ácida de la misma; d) acetilar el compuesto de fórmula (5) con un agente de acetilación adecuado para dar N-[2-(7-hidroxi-1-naftil)etil]acetamida de fórmula (6) o una sal de la misma; y e) hacer reaccionar el compuesto de fórmula (6) con un agente de metilación para dar la agomelatina de fórmula (1).
