Abstract

Se proveen estrategias de tratamiento que previenen o controlan el crecimiento de organismos que degradan estabilizadores de oxidantes en biocidas estabilizados de oxidantes. Esto permite la implementación de programas de halógeno estabilizado que se desempeñan a su nivel propuesto, y evita la necesidad de mayor uso de halógeno en un intento por mantener el control de estas poblaciones microbianas y reducir la demanda de halógeno creada por sus subproductos enzimáticos. Reivindicación 1: Un método para dirigirse a la infestación de microorganismos en un sistema de agua de proceso, donde el método comprende las etapas de: la introducción de una composición biocida que comprende un oxidante y un estabilizador de oxidante, en el sistema de agua de proceso, donde el estabilizador permite la persistencia del oxidante como un biocida, a pesar de la alta demanda del oxidante en el sistema; la detección de la presencia de un organismo capaz de degradar el estabilizador de oxidante; en caso de la detección positiva, la introducción de una composición de materia capaz de neutralizar el organismo degradante sin alterar de otro modo la eficacia de la composición biocida.
