Description
本発明は、水素化ホウ素を含有する水性の系、たとえば水素化ホウ素系還元漂白剤の適用後に得られる溶液または懸濁液における微生物の増殖を制御する方法に関する。本発明はさらに、還元条件を有する水性の系における、活性ハロゲン殺生物剤を安定化させる方法に関する。
表現「CFU/mL」とは、1ミリリットルあたりのコロニー形成単位を意味する。特に示されない限り、百分率またはppmの濃度はすべて重量基準で表わす。
本発明の方法が、還元条件(負のORP)下でさえ、ハロゲン酸化剤の安定化に有効であることを実証するため、次亜塩素酸ナトリウムをジメチロールジメチルヒダントインにより処理した溶液について上記の方法で調製した水素化ホウ素ナトリウム溶液に加え、残留総ハロゲン(Cl2として)を分析した。比較のため、ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインを使用しないで、残留総ハロゲン(Cl2として)を分析した。
安定化酸化剤が、還元条件下でさえハロゲンの放出時に殺生物剤性能を示す能力を検討した。北アメリカ製紙工場の処理用水にNaBH4を加え、残留水素化ホウ素含有量がNaBH4として35ppmとなるように設定した。未処理対照、水素化ホウ素処理対照、アルデヒド処理試料、およびアルデヒド+安定化ハロゲン処理試料を試験した(総Cl2用量を2ppmに設定)。初期および37℃、3時間後の最終ORP、ならびに3時間後に存在している残留ハロゲンを測定した。微生物集団は、37℃で試験および保管する24〜48時間前に、パルプスラリーによって提供されたものであり、したがって、微生物の増殖は高試験水準となる。
Claims (23)
- 水素化ホウ素残留物を含有する水性の系における微生物の増殖を制御する方法であって、ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインを前記水性の系に添加すること、続いて、活性ハロゲン源である酸化剤を、還元条件下において残留酸化剤レベルが提供されるように添加することを含む方法。
- 前記ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインが、−350mVより大きいORPを実現するのに十分な量で添加される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインが、−300mVより大きいORPを実現するのに十分な量で添加される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインが、−250mVより大きいORPを実現するのに十分な量で添加される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が、塩素元素、臭素元素、塩化臭素、アルカリ金属次亜ハロゲン酸塩、アルカリ土類金属次亜ハロゲン酸塩、臭化物と組み合わせたアルカリまたはアルカリ土類金属の次亜塩素酸塩、モノハロゲン化ヒダントイン、ジハロゲン化ヒダントイン、ハロゲン化シアヌレート、ハロゲン化シアヌル酸、および前記の混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が、ブロモクロロヒダントイン、ジブロモヒダントイン、ジクロロヒダントイン、および前記の混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が、次亜塩素酸ナトリウムおよび次亜塩素酸ナトリウム/臭化ナトリウムからなる群から選択される、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が、少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む溶液または組成物と組み合わされる、請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物が、p−トルエンスルホンアミド、5,5−ジアルキルヒダントイン、メタンスルホンアミド、バルビツール酸、5−メチルウラシル、イミダゾリン、ピロリドン、モルホリン、アセトアニリド、アセトアミド、N−エチルアセトアミド、フタルイミド、ベンズアミド、スクシンイミド、N−メチロール尿素、N−メチル尿素、アセチル尿素、アロファン酸メチル、カルバミン酸メチル、フタロヒドラジド、ピロール、インドール、ホルムアミド、N−メチルホルムアミド、ジシアノジアミド、カルバミド酸エチル、1,3−ジメチルビウレト、メチルフェニルビウレト、4,4−ジメチル−2−オキサゾリジノン、6−メチルウラシル、2−イミダゾリジノン、エチレン尿素、2−ピリミドン、アゼチジン−2−オン、2−ピロリドン、カプロラクタム、フェニルスルフィンイミド、フェニルスルフィンイミジルアミド、ジアリールスルフィンイミド、ジアルキルスルフィンイミド、イソチアゾリン−1,1−ジオキシド、ヒダントイン、グリシン、ピペリジン、ピペラジン、エタノールアミン、グリシンアミド、クレアチン、グリコールウリル、アンモニア、アンモニウム塩、および尿素からなる群から選択されるN−水素化合物である、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物が、ハロゲン化アンモニウム、硫酸アンモニウム、硫酸水素アンモニウム、重炭酸アンモニウム、炭酸アンモニウム、カルバミン酸アンモニウム、アルカンスルホン酸アンモニウム、アルキル硫酸アンモニウム、およびカルボン酸アンモニウムならびに前記の混合物からなる群から選択されるアンモニウム塩である、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 水素化ホウ素対ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインのモル比が、2:1〜1:20である、請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 水素化ホウ素対ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインのモル比が、1:1〜1:15である、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 水素化ホウ素対ジメチロールジメチルヒダントインのモル比が、1:2〜1:10である、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 活性ハロゲン対さらなるN−水素化合物のモル比が、20:1〜0.1:1の範囲にある、請求項9から13のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 活性ハロゲン対さらなるN−水素化合物のモル比が、10:1〜0.2:1の範囲にある、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 活性ハロゲン対さらなるN−水素化合物のモル比が、5:1〜2:1の範囲にある、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む前記溶液または組成物が、3〜11の範囲のpHを有する水溶液である、請求項9から16のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む前記溶液または組成物が、5〜10の範囲のpHを有する水溶液である、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む前記溶液または組成物が、7〜9.5の範囲のpHを有する水溶液である、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が水溶液中に存在しており、前記少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む前記組成物と混合される、請求項9から19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記活性ハロゲン源が水溶液中に存在しており、前記少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物を含む前記組成物を含む水溶液と混合される、9から19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも1種のハロゲン安定化化合物によって安定化される活性ハロゲンの濃度が、0.1〜20ppmである、9から19のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記水性の系が、パルプおよび製紙スラリーおよびリカー、再生パルプスラリー、パルプ濃紙料、脱インキパルプスラリー、パルプ漂白スラリーおよび液、バイオマス漂白スラリーおよび液、繊維漂白液、および粘土スラリーからなる群から選択される、請求項1から22のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
