Abstract

Un método para secuestrar óxidos de arsénico, que comprende formar un vidrio insoluble y estable incorporando una forma completamente oxidada de arsénico generada por oxidación de un óxido inferior de arsénico inicial y su estabilización por formación de una sal de calcio. La composición de vidrio para secuestrar arsénico comprende entre 50 y 75% de sílice; entre 0,5 y 3% de Al₂O₃; entre 1 y 15% de MnO; entre 5 y 15 % de CaO; entre 1 y 20% de As₂O₅ y entre 8 y 14% de Na₂O, y menos del cuatro por ciento de óxidos de hierro, óxido de magnesio y otros óxidos.
