Abstract

La presente se refiere a una suspensión acuosa de material mineral reológicamente estable que comprende a) al menos un material mineral, y b) al menos un polímero de ácido acrílico yio metacrílico, en donde al menos un polímero de ácido acrílico y/o metacrílico se obtiene por polimerización de monómero(s) de ácido acrílico y/o metacrílico en agua usando un compuesto de la fórmula (1) en donde X representa Li, Na, K o H, y R representa una cadena de alquilo que comprende de 1 a 5 átomos de carbono, y el compuesto de fórmula (1) se utiliza en una cantidad de 0,1 a 2,5% en peso, que se basa en el peso de dicho(s) monómero(s); tiene un peso molecular en peso PM de 800 a 8000 g/mol, un índice de polidispersidad IP en el intervalo de 2 a 3, y en donde la suspensión acuosa de material mineral tiene un contenido de compuestos orgánicos volátiles (COV) de £ 20 mg/kg, así como su proceso de preparación y usos de los mismos.
