Abstract

Las composiciones químicas antimicrobianas comprenden un sólido de fosfato de aluminio (AIP) disperso dentro de un polímero de unión, en donde uno o más materiales bioactivos están dispuestos dentro del AIP para formar un complejo de bioactivo-AIP. El complejo puede comprender el material bioactivo unido químicamente con el AIP, combinado físicamente con el AIP o una combinación de ambos. El complejo puede formarse de acuerdo con métodos de formación de precipitación, condensación y sol-gel. El complejo está diseñado para proporcionar una administración controlada del material bioactivo o un constituyente del mismo tras la exposición a la humedad para proporcionar un nivel deseado de resistencia antimicrobiana a una película o compuesto formados a partir de la composición de al menos aproximadamente 30 mg/m² y también puede proporcionar un grado deseado de resistencia a la corrosión a través de la liberación de anión de fosfato pasivante. Dichas composiciones químicas antimicrobianas proporcionan un grado mejorado de resistencia activa a largo plazo a una amplia gama de microorganismos en comparación con composiciones químicas antimicrobianas conocidas.
