Abstract
La solicitud provee un método eficiente de eliminacion de selenio de agua. El método comprende: agregar un oxidante al líquido, ajustar el pH del líquido por debajo de 7,5, agregar sal férrica en una cantidad que sea inferior a un cuarto del selenio en los precipitados del líquido y agregar un material de poli ditiocarbamato al líquido en una cantidad tal que la cantidad de material de poli ditiocarbamato (en ppm) sea mayor que la cantidad de sal férrica (en ppm). Este método elimina mucho más selenio que los métodos previos, y lo hace usando una cantidad menor de químicos costosos. Por otra parte este método permite cumplir de una manera mucho más economica con las normas ambientales cada vez más exigentes relativas a la presencia de selenio en agua.
