Abstract

Composiciones y métodos para mejorar la sacarificacion de biomasa con una o más enzimas, con el objeto de mejorar la disponibilidad de sustratos para la fermentacion por un microorganismo. Los microorganismos también están modificados para mejorar la actividad de una o más enzimas hidrolíticas presentes de manera endogena o introducidas de manera heterologa en un microorganismo huésped. Microorganismo Clostridium recombinante. Reivindicacion 1: Un proceso para generar un producto fermentativo final, que comprende (a) poner en contacto una biomasa carbonacea con i) un microorganismo recombinante que hidroliza y fermenta dicha biomasa, donde dicho microorganismo es capaz de fermentar directamente hidratos de carbono C5 y C6; y ii) una fuente externa de una o más enzimas capaces de mejorar dicha hidrolisis, donde dichas una o más enzimas comprenden una celulasa y donde la celulasa y el microorganismo actuan de manera sinérgicapara mejorar la hidrolisis; y (b) permitir que transcurra un período de tiempo suficiente para que tenga lugar dicha hidrolisis y dicha fermentacion, con el fin de generar un producto fermentativo final
