Abstract

Un método y aparato para separar una lechada en líquidos y solidos en un aparato de filtrado de presion y para formar una torta de solidos de filtrado substancialmente seca y frecuentemente poco compacta en donde un vapor de alta temperatura y presion se introduce dentro de una torta de solidos de filtrado inicialmente formada en el aparato de filtrado presurizado para forzar el vapor dentro de los intersticios de la torta de solidos de filtrado formada y luego la presion dentro del aparato de filtrado se reduce para permitir que el vapor destelle y se expanda dentro de los intersticios para absorber todo fluido remanente dentro de la torta de solidos de filtrado formada y causar que la torta de filtrado se torne substancialmente seca y poco compacta. La torta de solidos filtrada se descarga entonces por el aparato de filtrado.
