Abstract

Un proceso para fabricar fibras de polietileno de alto peso molecular, que consiste en someter una cinta de polietileno con un peso molecular promedio en peso de al menos 500.000 gramo/mol, una relacion Mw/Mn de a lo sumo 6 y un parámetro de orientacion uniplanar 200/110 de al menos 3, a una fuerza en la direccion del espesor de la cinta sobre el ancho total de la cinta. Fibras de polietileno que tienen un Mw de al menos 500.000 gramo/mol, una relacion Mw/Mn de a lo menos 6 y un valor de orientacion uniplanar 020 de a lo sumo 55s. También se reivindica el uso de estas fibras en varias aplicaciones. Se prefiere particularmente la preparacion de fibras lineales de baja densidad.
