Abstract

Metodos para producir un fenotipo deseado en una planta mediante la manipulacion de la expresion genica dentro de la planta. El metodo se refiere a medios que inhiben el nivel de expresion o actividad del gen PK220, donde un fenotipo deseado es la eficacia aumentada en el uso de agua con respecto a una planta de control del tipo silvestre. Tambien se divulgan secuencias de  cido nucleico y constructos utiles para dichos metodos para generar y aislar plantas, que tienen una expresion o actividad PK220 disminuida.
