Abstract

Composiciones y métodos para regular la expresion de secuencias de nucleotidos heterologas en una planta. Las composiciones incluyen una nueva secuencia de nucleotidos de un promotor con preferencia por la raíz para el gen que codifica Cyclo1. Se proporciona un método para expresar una secuencia de nucleotidos heterologa en una planta usando las secuencias promotoras descriptas en la presente documentacion. El método comprende incorporar en forma estable una secuencia de nucleotidos, unida operativamente al promotor con preferencia por las raíces de la presente, en el genoma de una célula vegetal, y regenerar una planta transformada en forma estable que expresa la secuencia de nucleotidos. La presente también se relaciona con ácidos nucleicos aislados que codifican ciclotidas vegetales. La presente se relaciona con la construccion de un gen quimérico que codifica la totalidad o una porcion de la ciclotida vegetal, en la orientacion del marco de lectura o antisentido, donde la expresion del gen quimérico resulta en la produccion de niveles alterados de ciclotidas vegetales en una célula huésped transformada.
