Abstract
La presente se refiere a un proceso para concentrar una suspension acuosa de partículas solidas que comprende los pasos de agregar al menos un floculante polimérico orgánico a la suspension formando con ello los solidos floculados donde los solidos floculados pueden formar una capa de solidos y formando con ello una suspension más concentrada donde el proceso comprende la adicion de una cantidad efectiva de un agente que se selecciona del grupo formado por agentes radicales libres, agentes oxidantes, enzimas y radiacion, donde el agente se aplica a la suspension antes o sustancialmente al mismo tiempo que se agrega el floculante polimérico orgánico y/o el floculante polimérico orgánico se agrega a la suspension en un recipiente y el agente se aplica a la suspension en el mismo recipiente. El proceso es particularmente adecuado para separar solidos de líquido donde los solidos floculados decantan por sedimentacion en un tanque de sedimentacion por gravedad.
