Abstract
La presente se refiere a métodos para aumentar la tolerancia al estrés en plantas y células vegetales mediante los cuales compuestos neonicotinoides, tales como pero sin limitarse a imidacloprid, clotianidina, tiametoxam, dinotefuran, nitenpiram, acetamiprid o tiacloprid, se aplican a plantas, o células de las mismas, que comprende un genoma que se ha modificado para hacer las plantas o sus células más tolerantes al estrés, es decir plantas modificadas mediante ingeniería para que sean tolerantes al estrés. Sinergistas de tolerancia al estrés particularmente eficaces en combinacion con plantas tolerantes al estrés modificadas genéticamente o sus células son compuestos neonicotinoides que comprenden una cadena lateral de cloropiridina, como por ejemplo imidacloprid, tiacloprid, acetamiprid, nitenpiram y ácido 6-cloronicotínico (6-CNA).
