Abstract
La presente se relaciona con un portador de grabacion, con un dispositivo accionador para el portador de grabacion, y con un método para proveer al menos un parámetro que defina al menos una característica del portador de grabacion en dicho portador de grabacion. Él al menos un parámetro es determinado durante una operacion de primer acceso al portador de grabacion y es entonces escrito en un área predeterminada del portador de grabacion mediante el uso de un patron predeterminado de al menos dos niveles de energía diferentes. Durante una subsiguiente segunda operacion de acceso, él al menos un parámetro es recuperado del portador de grabacion mediante la deteccion de los valores de inestabilidad en la senal de lectura. Con esto se provee una medida confiable y simple para almacenar y recuperar estos parámetros en el portador de grabacion.
