Abstract
Se han modificado polímeros de lactama con borohidruro de sodio (NaBH4) para producir polímeros de lactama que acarrean grupos funcionales hidroxilo. Estos grupos funcionales son ventajosos para la union covalente de grupos reactivos, sondas fluorescentes, agentes antimicrobianos, factores bioactivos y fármacos. El producto sirve como componentes de dispositivos médicos, especialmente para dispositivos oftálmicos y más específicamente para lentes de contacto. Los hidrogeles basados en estos polímeros también son convenientes para aplicaciones biomédicas en las áreas de administracion de fármacos, ingeniería de tejidos y dispositivos implantables.
