Abstract

Se proveen ácidos nucleicos aislados y proteínas asociadas con la regulacion del metabolismo de los lípidos y los azucares. En particular, se proveen proteínas del metalismo lipídico (LMP) y ácidos nucleicos codificadores provenientes de Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica napus, Glycine max, Oryza sativa y Triticum asestivum. Los ácidos nucleicos y las proteínas se usan en métodos para producir plantas transgénicas y modular los niveles de los compuestos almacenados en las semillas. Con preferencia, los compuestos almacenados en las semillas son lípidos, ácidos grasos, almidones o proteínas almacenadas en las semillas. Los ácidos nucleicos y las proteínas también se usan en métodos para modular el tamano de la semilla, la cantidad de semillas, el peso de las semillas, la longitud de la raíz y el tamano de las notas de las plantas.
