Abstract
Una celda de combustible que comprende un conjunto de membrana-electrodo que tiene una cara de electrodo anodico; una placa de ánodo adyacente a dicha cara del electrodo del conjunto de membrana-electrodo y acoplada a la misma por medio de una junta sellante. La junta sellante, la cara del electrodo y la placa de ánodo en conjunto definen un volumen de contencion de fluido para administrar un fluido anodico a la cara del electrodo. Una lámina de material difusor poroso está situada en el volumen de contencion de fluido y tiene por lo menos una cámara distribuidora definida entre por lo menos un borde lateral de la lámina del material difusor y la junta sellante. El fluido para administracion a una superficie activa del conjunto de membrana-electrodo puede ser administrado por la cámara distribuidora y por difusion a través del material difusor en una medida tal que los canales de flujo de fluido en la placa anodica no sean requeridos.
