Abstract

Proceso químico-mecánico mediante el cual se logra reducir la contaminación producida por la combustión de combustible fósiles, petróleo y sus derivados; alterando la composición química final de los gases resultantes: reduciendo la totalidad de los gases: SOx, NOx, VOC o HC, CO y CO2 y material particulado que componen el efluente y liberando a la atmósfera una mayor cantidad de oxígeno que la resultante post combustión; en este proceso interviene una solución química líquida, compuesta por agua destilada, bicarbonato de sodio y urea, un dispositivo mecánico, que la contiene y que permite que esta solución entre en contacto con los gases provenientes de la combustión, lavándolos, y además uno o varios elementos filtrantes que son parte del dispositivo mecánico, compuestos por una fibra de un hidrocarbono polimérico que reacciona químicamente en la presencia del carbono, producen la reacción en cadena de los gases nocivos resultantes, en los motores de combustión interna, calderas, chimeneas, fuentes móviles o estacionarias, reduciendo las emisiones de éstos, reteniendo la mayor parte de los elementos sólidos e hidrocarburos en el interior del dispositivo, y devolviendo a la atmósfera un efluente de gases más rico en oxígeno y con una cantidad muy reducida del resto de los gases y material particulado que contenía el efluente original.
